Volvo to launch EX30 and EX90 EVs in India by 2025

Volvo is also evaluating the possibility of manufacturing EVs in India.

Volvo India plans to expand its electric vehicle portfolio. By 2025, the carmaker will offer the EX30 and EX90 electric SUVs in the Indian market.

Jyoti Malhotra, MD of Volvo Cars India, confirmed this during a recent interaction with the media. He also revealed that the company is evaluating the possibility of manufacturing EVs in India for domestic sales and exports.

The Volvo EX30 is the smallest EV in the brand’s line-up. It is based on Geely’s SEA platform. It comes with a single electric motor on the rear axle, producing 268 BHP and 343 Nm. The base version gets a 69 kWh battery pack offering 442 km. The dual-motor performance variant packs 422 BHP and 542 Nm and has a range of 426 km.

The EX90 is Volvo’s flagship EV. It is powered by dual electric motors offering 408 BHP and 770 Nm in the base variant and 517 BHP and 910 Nm in the Performance variant. The EX90 comes with a 111 kWh battery pack offering a range of up to 600 km.
