Volvo has imported a single unit of the 2017 S60 Polestar for certification purpose. This import points towards a potential launch in the near future. If Volvo indeed decides to launch it in the Indian market, this would be the first time that a Polestar-edition will be offered in the country.

A quick search on Zauba reveals that the S60 Polestar docked at the Chennai Sea port on October 7, 2016. It has been brought in from Sweden, and has thus most likely been produced at the company's plant in Torslanda.

The Polestar edition is basically a high-performance iteration of the S60 sedan, which is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine that churns out 346 BHP and 470 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and comes with an all-wheel drive system as standard. Volvo claims that this powertrain setup allows the S60 Polestar to be accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, before reaching its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
