Hi All
Apart from the general tendency to comply with the law, living and driving in Chandigarh means really having to take care of the legalities involved!
All the cars I've bought and driven so far have always remained stock. So it's a new territory for me altogether!
1. Road-legal advice:
Is there anything here that is going to be problematic?
- Tyres: 17" to 18" (Have to change to AT anyways)
- Roll bar
- Bed Cover
- Simplish black plastic bumper guards (lightest weight possible), the front one with winch setup, maybe
- SLF removal
- Stock Halogens with LEDs, similar in size and ratings to the High model
- *Any important/cool accessories that I can add, being road-legal*
2. Advice for the best arrangement for its bed area - roll bar plus cover setup.
The goal is to have a
- A. Good sturdy cover,
- B. Ability to open it enough to be able to sit/stand in the bed at times (obviously not while driving)
- C. Roof Top Tent
I am not sure if B+C are possible together, but if there is some possible setup that experts here could point me towards, it'd be great!
3. Any other general accessories advice or suggestions?
I don't want to go too crazy with modifications, but just enough to make it look and function a notch higher!

While the Hilux owners reply...
I know you said you don't want to go overboard, but the minute I saw this Hilux, I wanted to go out and buy one . Like the Mahindra Thar, the Hilux is one of the most modifiable and customizable 4x4s in India.
I spent a week with a Hilux in Goa and loved the sheer character of the truck. If I didn't already own a modified Thar, this is the car I'd add to my garage.
