Yamaha Ray ZR, Fascino 125 Hybrid recalled in India

Around 3 lakh units manufactured between January 1, 2022 and January 4, 2024, are affected by this issue.

Yamaha has announced a voluntary recall of its 125cc Hybrid scooters over an issue with the brake lever function.

According to the company, around 3 lakh units of the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid manufactured between January 1, 2022 and January 4, 2024, are affected by this issue. The replacement part will be provided to customers free of charge.

To verify the eligibility for the recall, customers should visit the Service section and enter their vehicle’s chassis number on the Yamaha India website. Customers can also reach out to the company on the toll-free number: 1800-420-1600.

2023 Monster Energy Yamaha Moto GP Editions launched in India

The announcement of the launch of the Moto GP-inspired livery comes just days ahead of the Bharat GP.

Yamaha has launched its 2023 Monster Energy Moto GP Edition models in India. The announcement comes just days ahead of the Bharat GP.

The Monster Energy Moto GP Editions come in a special livery inspired by Yamaha's Moto GP team colours. It includes a black and blue theme with the Monster Energy logo on the tank shrouds and fairings. It is available on the YZF-R15M, MT-15 V2.0 and the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid models.

Yamaha hasn't made any mechanical changes to the Moto GP Editions. The R15 and MT-15 use the same 155cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 18.1 BHP and 14.2 Nm.

The Ray ZR is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. It is equipped with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which functions as an electric motor to provide a power boost under acceleration.

2022 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition range launched

The Moto GP editions come with a special livery inspired by the Yamaha factory team that races in MotoGP.

Yamaha has announced the launch of the 2022 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition range. It includes the YZF-R15M, MT-15, Aerox 155 and RayZR 125.

The Moto GP editions come with a special livery inspired by the Yamaha factory team that races in MotoGP. The YZR-R15 and MT-15 get Yamaha MotoGP branding on the track shrouds, the fuel tank and side panels, whereas, the Aerox 155 and RayZR scooters get Yamaha MotoGP branding on the overall body.

The R15 and MT-15 are powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 18.3 BHP and 14.1 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch and quick-shifter.

The Aerox 155 uses the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as the R15 but in a de-tuned form. It makes 15 BHP and 13.9 Nm.

The RayZR is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm @ 5,000 rpm.

Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Hybrid launched at Rs. 76,830

Yamaha has launched the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid in India. Prices start at Rs. 76,830 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Ray ZR and Street Rally hybrid scooters are powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. Both scooters come with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which functions as an electric motor to provide a power boost under acceleration.

An indicator light notifies the rider when the Power Assist function is active. About 3 seconds after starting, or when the throttle is cut back or the engine rpm exceeds the prescribed level, the Power Assist function is cancelled.

The Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Street Rally Fi Hybrid come with Automatic Start & Stop system, a side stand engine cut-off switch and a Quiet Engine Start System. Other features include an LED headlight, digital instrument cluster, 190 mm front disc brake with Unified Brake System (UBS), wide 110 mm rear tyre and 21-litre under-seat storage.

The scooters also get Bluetooth connectivity with Yamaha's Motorcycle Connect X app. It offers features such as Answer Back, Locate my Vehicle, Riding History, Parking Record & Hazard.

2021 Yamaha Ray ZR Hybrid scooter unveiled

The Ray-ZR Hybrid uses a 125cc engine paired with a hybrid system.

Yamaha has taken the wraps off the 2021 Ray ZR Hybrid scooter. 

The 2021 Ray ZR uses a 125cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is assisted by a hybrid system. While Yamaha hasn't provided any details about this powertrain, it is expected to be identical to the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid.

The Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid was also revealed last week. It comes with a 'smart motor generator' (SMG) that offers a power boost when accelerating. It also gives the scooter automatic start / stop capability.

Coming back to the Ray ZR, the scooter comes with a new LED headlight and an updated instrument console with Bluetooth. 

The Ray ZR Hybrid will be launched in the Indian market in a few months.
