TVS may launch new Victor in India on January 20, 2016

TVS Motor might launch the new Victor motorcycle in the Indian market on January 20, 2016.

The new Victor was first spotted testing in July 2014 (click here to read report). It is likely to be powered by the same 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the Star City+.

Spy images have indicated that the new Victor will get a simple commuter design with a stainless steel handlebar, a conventional heel-and-toe gear shifter, and a black exhaust pipe. Other features include a telescopic fork suspension at the front, dual shock absorbers at the rear, black alloy wheels, drum brakes and clear lens turn-indicators.

The old Victor was one of the most popular motorcycles from TVS. With the new model, the company will hope to grab a larger share of the over-crowded commuter motorcycle segment.

Next-gen TVS Victor spotted testing again

Back in June 2014, we had reported that TVS Motors was testing a new commuter motorcycle, which we believed was the next-generation Victor (click here to read report). Now the bike has been spotted once again.

From the image it appears that the Victor will be a simple and straightforward product with a stainless steel handlebar and a bikini fairing that looks similar to that of the old Victor. The bike has black, 5-spoke alloy wheels with drum brakes all round, clear lens turn-indicators and a single seat with the pillion sitting higher than the rider. It also has a faux air-scoop in the middle and a black exhaust pipe. The Victor uses a telescopic fork suspension at the front and double-rated shock absorbers at the rear.

The Victor is likely to be powered by the same 110 cc, single-cylinder engine that is used in the Star City+. A 125 cc version could be offered as well. More information on the motorcycle is awaited.

SCOOP: Is this the next-gen TVS Victor?

Thanks to BHPian //M for sharing these pictures with us.

A new motorcycle has been spotted testing on the Bangalore-Vellore highway. The bike has a commuter design and bears the lettering TVS on its engine, leading us to believe that this could well be the next generation TVS Victor, which is expected to be introduced in the market in the second half of 2014.

The motorcycle appears to be a no-nonsense offering and has a simple stainless steel handlebar, a conventional heel-and-toe gear shifter, dual rear shock absorbers and black tail pipe. The bike also has black alloy wheels with drum brakes and clear lens turn indicators. The seat lock is located near the rear left turn indicator. The test mule does not have a saree guard.

The Victor is likely to adopt the same 110 cc engine that does duty in the Star City +.  A 125 cc unit might be offered later on.
