2023 Kawasaki Z900RS launched at Rs 16.47 lakh

The Z900RS is powered by a 948cc, 4-cylinder engine that makes 110 BHP and 98.5 Nm.

Kawasaki has launched the 2023 Z900RS in India. The bike is imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and is priced at Rs 16.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2023 edition of the Kawasaki Z900RS looks identical to the outgoing version. The bike has a neo-retro design featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a circular headlamp and a semi-digital instrument console.

The Z900RS is powered by a 948cc, 4-cylinder engine that makes 110 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 98.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike is equipped with an upside-down fork suspension at the front and a rear mono-shock. The brake setup consists of dual 300 mm discs at the front and a single 250 mm disc at the rear supported by dual-channel ABS.

Kawasaki Z900RS launched at Rs. 15.30 lakh

Kawasaki Z900RS made its debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The retro-styled naked bike has now been launched in India at Rs. 15.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Z900RS measures 2,100 mm in length and its width and height are 865 mm and 1,150 mm respectively. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,470 mm and the seat is set at a height of 835 mm. The Z900RS weighs 215 kg (kerb weight) and comes with a 17-litre fuel tank. The bike will be available in 2 colour options, candytone brown and candytone orange.

The Z900RS takes inspiration from the classic Kawasaki Z1. It is based on a Z900 chassis that has been slightly tweaked. It features a circular LED headlamp, twin-pod analogue instrument cluster with chrome bezels and an LCD display in the centre. The bike has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, blacked-out engine and crankcase and a 4-1 exhaust finished in chrome. The Z900RS rides on adjustable 41 mm inverted front forks and a monoshock at the rear. 

The Kawasaki Z900RS is powered by a 948 cc, in-line 4-cylinder engine that produces 110 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 98 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys shod with 120/70 section tires in the front and 180/55 in the rear. Braking is handled by twin 300 mm semi-floating discs with radially mounted 4-piston calipers and a single 250 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. It comes with safety features like Kawasaki Traction Control (KRTC) and ABS.

Kawasaki Z900RS retro-styled bike unveiled

Kawasaki unveiled its latest Z900RS - a retro-styled naked bike at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The Kawasaki Z1 from the 1970s inspires this bike.

While, the Z900RS is based on the Z900, the chassis has been tweaked to suit the bike. It gets a classic circular headlamp with chrome trim and modern LEDs. The twin-pod analogue instrument houses an LCD display in the middle. The cluster gets chrome bezels, while the 4-1 exhaust also gets a chrome finish. The teardrop-style fuel tank features classic livery with the Kawasaki logo to go with theme. Even the cylinder heads have been designed to look like the classic air-cooled unit.

It gets a leather seat and raised handlebars for an upright riding position. The handlebars are 30 mm wider, 65 mm taller and 35 mm closer to the rider. The rider's foot pegs have also been moved forward and have been lowered by 20 mm compared with the Z900.

The Z900RS uses a similar suspension setup as the Z900. At the front, it gets adjustable 41-mm inverted forks and an adjustable horizontal back-link, gas-charged shock absorber at the rear. It rides on new cast wheels that are designed to look like wire-spoke ones.

The new bike uses the same 948cc, liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder engine as the Z900, but it has been re-tuned for better mid-range. It produces 109 BHP and 73 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch. Kawasaki claims that the gear ratios have been tweaked. The twin-floating discs handle the braking duties with 4-piston radial calipers in the front and a single disc at the rear.

The Kawasaki Z900RS comes with traction control and two riding modes. It is offered in orange, black and a matte green colour options.
