Default Maruti Suzuki - Low Fuel Warning Indicator

We have been having a discussion in one of the other forums about Low Fuel Warning Indicator in the SX4 and I was propounding that there is in fact one.
Many were berating there was'nt any.
To my shock i was told by a senior advisor in Maruti Service center that NO MARUTI car has a low fuel warning indicator LamP!!

Is that so? Have any of you Maruti (any model) owners seen the lamp glow ? Ever?

What i find surprising is that this is so only in India. I found a few manuals for Sx4 US/Japan that said the low fuel warning lamp does exist.

There is small low fuel warning indicator light/icon near the 'E' mark on the fuel gauge in my Swift Vdi... but I haven't seen it glow as of yet (my car has done only 400 kms so far)

Second that. Disgusting when you're in a hurry or very busy. A must-implement for Maruti.

This may sound stupid, but when we have fuel gauges given in the instrument panel, why do we need a low fuel warning lamp, isn't it our responsibility to check the fuel level in our car before setting of anywhere?

Fuel gauge should be more than enough for the purpose. May be this feature being present in other cars is pushing people to question about this. Not a useful feature though.

Thumbs down

Tell me how many of you guys drive the car to the near empty? There are so many useful features that Maruti and others have simply left out.

Why dont we talk about them rather than a not so useful low fuel indicator? We always have the level indicator. As a responsible driver, I think most of us looks at the indicators once in a while.

I dont think a thread needs to be dedicated to this

There is space for low fuel warning but no bulb placed in the Swift Diesel.

No low fuel indicator in any Maruti car? Wow. That's intersting.

Though this is a glaring 'miss' from Maruti, I don't think it's a deal breaker isnt it? I rarely drive my Palio till the low fuel indicator comes on. I guess, because most cars have this feature nowadays, people feel like Maruti is cost cutting on this but then my Palio doesn't have a 'fasten seat belt' indicator so I guess every company gives you something and takes away something.

The NHC doesn't have a temperature indicator. Isn't that more of a required feature then a low fuel indicator lamp? By the way, I have always wondered how can one know if the city is overheating? Is the system similar to the VW Beetle that has a blue lamp which glows till the engine reaches it's optimum operating temperature and then switches off automatically. If the engine overheats, a red light glows in the instrument cluster warning of the same. How does it work in the NHC?

I really dont think this is a "must have feature" but rather a "good to have" feature.
