An Effort to Revolutionize the Track Day Scene. (Oct 18th)

Hello All,

We are trying something new for the first time.
The initiative is to introduce the concept of Track Days for the masses.
The idea is to improve the Indian motorsports scenario and to pull out all those road racers and put them in the right 'Track'. We are planning the concept of organized Track days in India. As a part of this we are organising a Track day in Chennai on October 11th by making use of the pay and practise facility, and will have our own mechanic and a medic with the basic first aids for the track day.

The best part is..we have a trainer, a person who is well equipped with all the skills one needs to have. Our current trainer is none other than Jagat Nangappa. The nine time rally champ, who started off with motorcycles...Jagat has been racing since the 80's and knows his stuff well. You can find more info about jagat here.
Jagat and Anita Nanjappa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ( I know most of us here doesn't need this part )
Track day will be both for bikes and cars. Cars will be allowed in the afternoon. jagat would explain the basics only, as we don't have a lot of time at hand.

We are planning to conduct one such track day either at Chennai or coimbatore, once every month depending on the availability of the track.
Please sign up for this event, you don't want to miss out on a chance to ride or drive with jagat...

All the best for this. I hope it gets a tremendous response.

I just read that it would cost 2800 bucks for a 1-5 pm on the track for cars.
Is that right?

That's right. Includes the Track day fee for pay and practice (1000 RS) + the trainer cost + medic and mech

Thanks for the response guys..But every time something like this happens a lot of people get excited and counts themselves in, but on the final day very few of them turn up...If you want to participate, please send a mail to racinglinegp@gmail.com, or use the contact us facility in the web site. I will send you the details, the timings, how we are doing this and how to make a money transfer.
But before you do that be sure, you are there and you don't have any other engagements. A full refund would be made if the event is cacelled due to any unexpected reason (God Forbid...) , or if you cancel before Friday Oct 9th. I would still give u a refund after that date, but it will leave a hole in my pocket .

Guys, when was the last time you got a hance to drive with Jagat, on a racing track. ? Come on, make this happen. You don't need to be a racer or motorsporsts enthusiast to do this. Just have a nice time and learn more.

Thanks mods for bringing this back..

Guys.updates..We have a majority of riders and not much cars..The idea is to compensate most of the cost with the riders, so that we can bring down the cost for cars..What we have worked out is

2500 --- for 3- 4 cars
2000---for 5-8 cars..

You need to bring your own car and it should be in good condition. The training method would be decided by jagat and we need to stick to it..

let me know if you have questions.

I'm in, assuming I'm in town that weekend. Have asked for registration details using the contact form on the website.

My Zen has carburetor problems that apparently can't be fixed without replacing the carburetor, which I'm not in a position to do at the mo'. Jerks at slow speeds and when the accelerator is suddenly pulsed down. Will that be a problem on the track? I could try and borrow a friend's Palio 1.6. Heck, I think I'll do that anyway! I love that car.
