Re: Hyundai Grand i10 diesel: Remapped by Tune-O-Tronics!

I have driven around 500 KM post remap. Today I drove from Mysore to Mangalore. I am very impressed with the way the car performed on Ghats. Gear changes are reduced. Car was picking up speeds on ghats while in stock map, I had to struggle to maintain speeds.

I have replaced air filter last week. I will change oil, oil filter and fuel filter soon. Tyre up size to 175/185 width is also on cards.

That is the reason, I find the Grand i10's brakes very 'grabby' for comfort. Does your car have ABS?

Grand i10 brakes have very aggressive initial bite. People who drive the car first time find it very uncomfortable. It's just getting used to. For minor braking, You just have to keep the foot on brake pedal and not press it hard . Yes, My car has ABS. Even ABS is way too sensitive.

Congrats Dr for this remap. I got my fiesta classic remapped in the year 2013 by T-O-T. I know and can understand the need for a remap when you really need it. Hope this remap makes you smile and makes you feel content every time you take her out for a drive.
Enjoy.

Thanks buddy!!

It feels like Grand I10 badly deserved this remap . TOT has given a very linear map and torque is held for longer. There is no wheel spin/torque steer. Good part is there is no black smoke. I was expecting little smoke because turbo is FGT without ECU control and not possible to feed in more air. So I am really impressed with TOT map which is making good power without smoke.

Grand i10 has no FE display in MID. I have not checked FE using tankfull method. If I go with fuel gauge, it looks like there is no drop in FE for sure.

1.6 S-Cross has EDC 17 ECU. It needs to be bench flashed. I just hope Alientech/CMD comes up with OBD protocol soon. Anyways, I am planning to remap in 2 or 3 months .

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 diesel: Remapped by Tune-O-Tronics!

Drove 700 KM post remap : Observations

1. Engine has become smooth and silent. I bet nobody could say it's a 3 cylinder diesel engine.

2. Power is available till 4000 RPM. In stock map power used to taper post 3K RPM.

3. Power gain is very prominent from 2000 to 3000 RPM.

4. Negligible turbo lag.

5. 3rd gear feels the most powerful. Car used to strain if I revv in 3rd gear till 100 KMPH. Now it's very eager to touch 100 in 3rd gear.

6. Minimal gear shifts in city traffic.

7. Got 16.9 KMPL on first tankfull post remap. Remember, there was aggressive driving and 0-100 tests. I am sure I would get better FE with my normal driving.

Filled diesel at Reliance pump and car feels faster

Crysta has 2 inbuilt maps. I guess power mode button can be called as super power mode post remap What's the ECU make? Remap for old Innova has come up recently, thanks to some tool manufacturer breaking the protocol. What about Innova Crysta?

It is a Denso ECU. Hope it rolls out soon for the new Innova too.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 diesel: Remapped by Tune-O-Tronics!

Since last few months, I used to hardly drive my Grand i10. Now I am using it daily (80 KM daily drive) post remap . I have ordered 175/65 R14 Kenda tyres from Snapdeal. I got it for just 2K per tyre (heavily discounted). I have been buying tyres online and never had any issues. Price is also cheaper than tyre dealer outlets. I need to do a Vbox run again with new tyres.

I would be getting 1.6 S-Cross remapped next month .

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 diesel: Remapped by Tune-O-Tronics!

Crossed 1000 KM Post Remap :

1. Car is doing really well.

2. FE has increased by slight margin (0.5 to 1 kmpl)

3. Kenda 175/65 R14 tyres have arrived (ordered from Snapdeal). I will install them soon.

4. Hyundai recommends 15W 40 engine oil. There is option of mineral vs synthetic. 4.7 litres is required.

Mineral oil : 1400 Rs
Synthetic oil : 4000 Rs

I have used only mineral oil till now. Should I go for synthetic?

I would recommend Mobil Delvac 1 full synthetic 5W40 anyday, worth every penny. Since the car is remapped, makes sense in going for a full synthetic.
