Is it possible fit a YPVS like power valve device to the RX exhaust ports?
Should be an interesting project

A very interestin project, but makes me shudder.

Grp C is a category of bikes for racing. As far as i know, the frame should be standard, disc brakes, Imported carbs allowed and modifications can made to the engine as long as it is done in India. Plus, the bikes are lightened a lot. Vibrates a lot and very noisy but very fast. :-)

Hi,

I have a 1998 model RX135-4 speed. I plan to install K&N air filter(Model R1100). If i install this filter should i need to do jetting?

I heard from my mechanic the current jet sixe is 135-4speed is 165.
If i need to do jetting should i go for RX-135-5 speed carb jets or any other one?

Also i plan to go for Proton Exhaust chamber? if i go for this should i change the reed too?

Also i plan to go for Iridium spark plugs. Do let me know which one is better?

and for cdi do let me know the contact person in bangalore...

Kindly help me in this queries so that i can start the modification with your adivice.

Thanks in advance
Senthil.

Interesting !!

Back to topic. Find a Good mechanic on some small side street to change engine oils, decarbing, carb oil, air filter, spark plug cleaning. Maybe sit with him while he does it.

150 Rs service charge is what I pay for a super job. like I have said in other threads.. My RX can take almost any Indian bike other than the karizma and P-200 and the likes and my puppy is going to be 11 years old now.

DRAG DRAG DRAG !!!!!!!!

My Yam is ported and 3rd gear touches 75 kmph - no speedo error

That apart the Yezdi is one underrated bike.

There was a Yezdi Road king for sale 10k in the freeads am so tempted to pick it up (negotiate for 6k maybe). My dad has a yezdi classic 250 rotting back home in chennai in the garage :( and he wont give it to me.

1. You need to rejet otherwise the bike is going to run lean and you will not get the desired effect. I tried the Kathoros filter on my Ambition and the exercise failed because I was unable to get the right jets. I have removed the filter now.

2. Let me know if you need help with the chamber or the aerospace composite or Boyeseen reed valves.

3. For Cdi, check with chinoy of BLR. Someone can help you.

4. My old RX 100 (sold) had Induction resonator kit. You can try that as well. Dont know if it is still available.

All the best.

Here's my trusty steed. Originally a Black RXG (black + chrome still the best ever).

I had it rebored around 5 years back with a 135 kit. No mods as such.

While I was away my @#$%^^ brothers used to regularly run her without any oil (I use the side tank). Being a Yamaha it never seized but basically its real messed up at the moment.

Engines beginning to sound bad. Only reason Im not doing anything is because mileage hasnt dropped. Will have to look into some major overhauling soon.

I think you get the picture.

There was an RX 125. The fairing carried a star. It was pulled out because of certain legal reasons - the bore exceeded the permitted limit. Never driven it though I have seen two in Bangalore.

I have an RX 135 5 speed. It is rusting in Pune. I have a hectic workload but need to get moving on restoring her. I want to keep her stock as far as possible except for the addition of disc brakes. Plus I need to change her registration from KA to MH. Nice to see this thread.

And trust me when I say...my modded 2001 RX135 5 speed runs a VM28 Mikuni which came off a "Tiger"

@ironwolf...My Yam rx 135 hits 80km/hr in 3rd gear and its not ported.
Infact I didnt know it was in 3rd gear ,when it stopped accelerating further after 80 is when I recognized that it was in 3rd gear...

So do you really mean ,the bike need to be ported to touch 75km/hr .
But I could feel my bikes engine crying @ that speed..
