Well i saw a guy riding a blue colored one in NOIDA.I was dissapointed by the looks. It looks like a APACHE RTR with a r1 copy fering. Its as big as the RTR too.Tyres were skinny.Cant comment on the performance,Sounded like any other 150cc indian bike.Nothing distinctive for the price.

What do you mean by ideal upsize? Just install HID's. Are you thinking of changing the tyres as soon as you get the bike?

First of all, check if the bulbs are H4's, H7's etc and then buy that HID kit. I think they will be H7's. Make sure you don't buy anything above 6000K color temperature or you'll get into trouble with the cops all the time.

My roommate is getting his bike next week.
Saturday is the official launch here in Kolkata. It will take another 4-6 days for Registration. I will get mine by 15th of July. Both the bikes would be black.

I Rode R15 two days back
not a test ride from dealer but friends got them
Did 136 on speedo on NH1(I weigh 92kgs-sigh) it might have touched 140 but i ran out of road.

People Buying R15 please donot look for tyre upgrade, the stock one's are awsome, they are very very sticky.

the only downside is that they are skinny, any upgrade and you might lose on power

Thats what the guy who designed it said, you will lose on power/performance.

yesterday i saw the bike for real and i felt the bike is a bit overly done.. guess the bike would look better if it had the naked street fighter looks.. like FZ1

slight OT - but WRT HID on bikes -

Feasibility of HID doesn't depend only on whether the ballast is a 35W or 55W. It depends on the batt Ah rating. Although running amp requirements is about 4A startup requires a lot more and you need to have a 9Ah battery to be sure of no issues regarding power up and performance. Some ppl have been able to get it done with a 7.5Ah battery though occasionally the batt weakens to the extent you have a weak weak horn and starter wont work properly.

I had a HID on my P200 - it has a 9Ah battery - running on a DC setup ala ZMA w/o problems but if you are not keen on the DC showoff effect ... you can use a bridge rectifier ckt to run it off the AC got from the magneto coil into HL. This minimizes probability of Batt drain too.

HID single beams cost 3.5K upwards here. Low-beam HID, high beam halogen costs around 5.3K and the dual beam hid costs around 9K ( if you can get it as a single bulb i.e) . All these are costs for the HID kit with single bulb though the dual beam HID is usually sold only in a pair since its meant for cars. I had this on my bike - now using on the car.

And 35W kit is the best option since most bikes in India barring the 220 come with a stock 35W HL capacity and using a 45/55/65W ballast setup will mean rewinding to support it ...not a good idea..
