Royal Enfield Classic 350 / 500 - Now on Sale

Finally after nearly 5 months i got a call form the dealer saying my bike(C350) has arrived, made the payment and eagerly waiting for the bike, due monday evening, cant wait!

Btw is it ok the go for the upswept silencer right away or wait till later, if so how long?

After being given a 45 day delivery period initially and then extending it to over 3 months! That's bad enough for me ! Lol

Thats right, an RE Mechanic here in Calicut also says Upswept can be fitted immediately- He says no problem as its OEM from RE itself. Also I ve seen atleast two brand new CL350s fitted with Upswepts.

However as ESSYOUWEE says, I think its wise to wait till after 2nd service to fit it. Anyway since RE wont buy back the old Silencer, why not use it for two months?

The Electra TwinSpark is up on the RE site. Also, finally have removed the Bullet CI from the RE site. Or maybe I am too late in seeing this on the site?

The Bullet CI was off the site sometime back. It had then been listed in the 'Retired Models' section.

Hey guys, reduction of back pressure is not advisable during the run-in period. If you do go in for it, do post a video plz! I am approaching 2000kms and would want to change the exhaust only if there is discernible difference in the sound.

@SUV: Here are two videos for comparison with the same bike a couple of days apart.

Stock:

Upswept:

This is a UK model, so the stock may sound different from your own since, IIRC, they have an extra catcon (unless thats the US model). The upswept is common for all, though, if the bend pipe is replaced as well.

Edit: Confirmed that the stock UK bike has two catcons, and the upswept has none.

The upswept sure does make quite a difference.

But I own a 350 and it sounds much sissier than the 500.

And sadly, have not heard a single 350 with an upswept. :(

My booking was made on 21.01.10, with an expected waiting period of 3-4 months. I received a package today from Royal Enfield with a calendar and letter enclosed. The letter stated that I was #21 on the waiting list and my bike is expected only in the last week of June hence extending the expected waiting period to 5 months.

Also mentioned in the letter was a deal from RE where they offered to refund 9 out of the 10k booking amount without affecting my position in the waiting list.

The calendar and the refund offer is a nice touch by RE. I must say, their sales team is definitely one of the better facets of the brand.
