Great pick !! you can also put in a small fridge in the back side that the "limited edition" version had...that should make your beast even more equipped

Did Some Mod on the baby seat

Hi All,

as you are aware on the Safari which i have brought,

last week i took my pet in the safari and it was not much comfortable in the rear part(as it used to be more comfortable on my Swift).

then finally planned to get the rear baby seats and install a 3 row seat for the pet.

did my intial re-search and checked with my friends who have good releations in Shivaji nagar, since JC road was verified by me.

i was unable to find the orginality at the JC road and the cost was more.

so finally decided to go for Shivaji nagar

spoke with couple of people and finally i got a safari middle row seat, and then took it near the linear. that guy was very experienced guy.(reffered by the person where we took the Seat).

he straight away told that the seat will not suit and we had to go back to the guy and get a better seat for fitment. then finally the guy suggested us to go for indigo Marina seat, and then we got the seat(orginal one for 3k, which was removed, and the owner replaced two bucket seats in the rear).

the liner worked on the seat and then he did some tinkering work and finally got it installed. just reached home. and the pet is more comfortable in the seat.

Note: this is purely for my pet, and there is no comfortable in the reat seat if some one sits in the rear(3rd row). but might be slightly moving the front row 2 inches front(so that if some one sits it should be comfortable).

great work by the Linears / Tinkers.

there was not even a single damage on the car, as it was fully flexible (only 4 holes on the back frame for the seat to sit). and the FOldable seat lock they made the lock).

I have been doing heavy stuff R&D on the Safari 3rd row seating since a year, and you do it in a weeks time

Dude....! please show off the 3rd row seating.

So now you have 2+3+3? Nice that people treat pets like part of the family, and go through all the trouble to see their pets comfy. Anyway, are you experiencing any niggling problems or such?

Surely Pavan,

i will post the pictures by today EOD. as i was tired yesterday so could not post the pictures.

the only next step is to move the middle row seat a little bit front so that if some one sits on the last row i want it to be a comfortable ride.

which is happening tommrow. as i am busy today and the driver is on leave, i need to take the vehicle near the Kalyan nagar / Hennur road

Hmm, not bad. I didn't know the Safari's 'Sofa' could split. The Indigo seat isn't too bad either. I think it ain't a Marina's seat, I believe the Marina's seat came with adjustable headrests. Correct me if wrong.
Lucky boy, your pet. What's his name and age?

Just awesome Speedy Racer !!!

Couple of observations & question :

1 - No much or NO luggage space left once the seat is ON.
2 - The rear of the seats are NOT complete. Looks very weird with an incomplete job (if I can comment that way). OR thats all the finish ?
3 - When you say "foldable", Will it be like full flat OR removable as well ?
4 - Not sure if you have already shared it here. How much it costed you in total - seat cost + labor for fitting, anything else that you had to buy, etc ... ?
5 - I know, this is a old vehicle. But, by doing this, will the vehicle warranty gets void ?

Thanks in advance !
Prem.

Please find the answers.

1. Yes the space is less, but i can fold the seats without removing, so i can get the place. when i say its for my pet, i will be always keep them folded. so problem saved.
2. yes there is work pending which i have mentioned earlier. please find the pictures. the gaps have to be covered with sponge(seat with rexine covers), seat covers, painting the base. planning to change the entire entiriors then it will look cool.
3. when i say foldable (the seat which you can fully fold an use the space(like Jazz seat, avaiable in tata indica, marina etc).
4. the entire project costed me around 7k.(which includes the seat, labour, and the tinkering work for the locks & seat and movement of middle row seat to 3 inches before to give a little leg room).
5. i dont think so your warrenty is avaoided. since he just drills two holes in the body base, and 2 places welding and tinkering work for locks near the baby seat for the new seat.

please let me know if you require any information.

@SPEEDY_RACER

Congrats, on the awesome modification. This is the first time I am hearing such a thing has been done on a safari. If only I did my research properly, I would have gone with a safari also last year. sigh..

If someone comes up with a proper seat, then this could look very professional. In fact my brother is into office furniture/upholstery work. I'll show this to him and see if he can make a proper seat with leather covers. Should be an interesting project
