Guwahati - Vintage and Classic Cars

I just got back from a great trip and spent some time with some members of the North East Vintage and Classic Car Club, a small but dedicated group of enthusiasts.

I will pot more info on them later and have suggested they LOG ON to Team - BPH.

The first photo is of the group with myself, wife Jharna and fourth from the left Pickloo Deka, a great guy who has been saving cars and bikes from the scrap cars and is slowly restoring them with the hope to set up The Northeast Heritage Foundation where his and other cars can be displayed. This was the maiden run of his VW bus which ate up the mountain roads.

His name is Pickloo (Palash) Deka and I am sure he would appreciate some encouragement... response@treasuredwheelsne.co.in<br ...l phone.<br />

Holy Macaroni!!! I am from Guwahati and I had no clue about this!! I had a neighbour who had a Morris Oxford which was maintained in immaculte condition. And I had seen VW Beetle, that too exceptionally well maintained.

Thank you for the post John. I am going home in March. @John - Can you please give me some contact information about Pickloo?

A few more cars tucked away by his home.

Thought you would enjoy a photo of a pro-type heavy moving tank that I saw being tested out just north of Guwahati.

John, thanks for bringing this to us. I will get in touch with you once I return to India. Do you move between Toronto and Calcutta? How long do you intend to stay in Calcutta this time?
