2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class dashboard spied

The current generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been in production since 2010. The car received a major refresh recently, but is now nearing the end of its life cycle. Mercedes-Benz has already started testing the 2017 E-Class (W213). The sedan's exteriors have been spied on multiple occasions over the past few months. We now have a first look at the new E-Class's dashboard.

Given how the new C-Class (W205) has replicated the design of the current S-Class (W222), the E-Class will share a similar design DNA. The dashboard features 4 aviation inspired AC vents instead of the 2 vents on the current model. The car gets a push button starter in line with the vents as well. The analogue clock has been moved lower and sits below the AC controls. The instrument cluster features analogue dials for the tachometer & speedometer, while the MID in between them will display additional information. The dashboard cowl extends over the infotainment system screen, which can be controlled by the rotary dial or a touch pad.

The doors are not visible in these spy shots, but we can also expect the power seat controls & speakers to share styling cues with the new S-Class. The 2017 E-Class will most likely use more lightweight aluminium in the body shell & feature larger dimensions as well.
