BMW G 310 R won't launch in 2016

BMW Motorrad has reportedly confirmed that their entry-level motorcycle, the G 310 R, will not make its Indian debut this year. Instead, the BMW G 310 R will be launched in the early months of 2017. This is contrary to earlier reports that had claimed that the bike would be introduced in India around this year's festive season.

Though the company hasn’t made public the reason behind this rescheduling of the G 310 R launch, it is being rumoured that BMW is currently suffering from supply related issues. As a result, the two-wheeler maker is likely taking the patient approach by launching the product only when the manufacturing outflow is potent enough to meet the expected demand.

The G 310 R is the first two-wheeler coming out from the BMW-TVS Joint Venture, which was formed in 2013. It will also be the smallest capacity motorcycle in the German two-wheeler manufacturer's portfolio. It will be powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm.
