Petrol and diesel prices slashed from April 16, 2015

The prices of petrol and diesel have been slashed from April 16, 2015. This is the second reduction In fuel prices this month.

After the reduction in prices, petrol costs Rs. 59.20 per litre (Delhi), 80 paise lesser than before, while diesel will cost Rs. 47.20 per litre - a drop of Rs. 1.30. Since the last revision on April 2, 2015, the international prices of the two fuels have fallen and the rupee has become stronger against the dollar. This has warranted a drop in the prices of petrol and diesel.

In February, the price of petrol was raised by 82 paise per litre and that of diesel by 61 paise per litre. March saw another hike in the prices of the two fuels. The price of diesel went up by Rs. 3.18 per litre, while that of diesel went up by Rs. 3.09 per litre.

On April 2, 2015 the prices of petrol and diesel were slashed by 49 paise per litre and Rs. 1.21 per litre respectively.
