I think a pic doesnt reveal the full story. That clinging/hanging was after the jeep had come to a stop. It wasnt close to tipping over, but yes it looks like a close call

Almost all offroader is seen doing wheely in one spot. Was it a dip?
Actually the reverse of a DIP -

Imagine this!! On a 40-45 degree UPWARD Climb, there lies a 1-foot high (10feet wide, 4 feet long) slab of rock. You HAVE to come very near it and gun it at the last moment for the front to climb the rock and place itself over the rock. (We had land filled the 1-foot climb with many small stones to make it easier). Few good drivers (note - i am not saying experienced) - made it without a jump, may be luck, may be good sync with their machine! They made a perfect approach and clean climb onto the rock, and gently down the other side to allow the rear to climb. (Of course with some tyre spin). Diesels most preferred for this obstacle!

Nope, did very less with the 70-300, used the 18-55 for most of the photos.
I had great time though. I did a complete experiment on my 70-300 next day after i bought at the Bannerghatta National Park, Bengaluru.

Looks like perfect terrain for the Gurkha to take advantage of its lockers! Very nice vehicle by the way, congrats. Was the Gurkha performing much better than the Jeeps on that uneven rocky terrain? I would expect so.

Thanks for sharing all the videos and pictures! It looks like you all had a great time.

Gurkha is also a Jeep sir, it performed as good any if not better then other Jeeps, not many places to use the diff.

Thanks for the compliments its rear to find

@ siddartha you are right, its 2 MAJOR obstacles, were good to keep us busy.

Siddhu - this is a laaarge trail like avalakonda. Frankly I have not been able to recee more than this 2 entry points... it is a very deep forest trail and goes all the way till krishnagiri dam, parallel to GQ7. Let me get some concrete permissions before I venture into this forest range.

thats nice to know , please do more recces and get paly with the locals/local authorities.
if this trail holds any promise, i suggest you do recces/otrs in small numbers only (less than 10 vehicles) so that we dont lose this trail like some of the others around bangalore.

@hi sunil - as long as it was fun.thats all that matters anyway.
