Scorpio today is one of the most reliable vehicles we have. We had problems with old Scorpio's as they were badly abused in great escapes. In newer fleet not even once there had been an issue of electronic 4 wd not working when reqd.
Having said that, manual systems are still the best if you operate in conditions where u have to shift into and out of 4wd in a hurry and often. But if you have patience, if you follow instructions and if your use age is not hard core, electronic system is reliable enough.
