Re: Exploring the Himalayas

going by our jeeps, spiti would be a handful , so i suggest that we stick to kalpa-sangla or chopta axis as it would offer everything and yet be relatively easy and no logistics for our jeeps would be necessary.

my suggestion is that :

when-august/sept, as post monsoon
how long-5-6 days
where- chopta axis with small trek to chandrashila/deoria taal or kalpa with a 2 day trek to k.kailash or dharamshala with a small trek to indrahar pass.
what else-all these places we get to do fishing, otr trails, camping, birding
how-by jeeps, camp where ever we feel like - fauji style
logistsics- jeep support i can arrange. spares arranged by self and central mechanic and also recovery and major spares can be centralised.
extras- radios, gps, angling rods, quads, binoculars, tents, sleeping bags.

we can list out requirements and help to arrange things which are missing from anyones kit. as all these things are available on rent as well.

think for a name and a symbol for our adventure

if we can lets do everything quick and then we can work on some sponsorship, i already have been able to get assurance for one on this concept

lets get the riot and party going .

Re: Exploring the Himalayas

Doc please have a round of discussion with HVK and any one else familiar with the area on freezing the route. Once that's done we can agree on time and then other details as you suggest

I am no way connected to these guys thought of sharing it as folks wanting "to do" the Himalayas have an option.

Can someone give some inputs on rentals? I dont have company to lug a vehicle all the way from South .
