Are the transfercases interchangeable?

Your transfer case will be a direct bolt on. Take my word for it. Been there done that and spent one hell of a lot of money too.
I have a BA10 link system, an electic transfer case, a KMt90 gearbox and a whole lot of parts left behind to show for it.
Jyobeb,
I had some idea that T18 came fitted with NGT 520 gear box. Never knew this happened to BA 10 as well. Now charging 50k plus premium for 4wd for a T18 is a day light robbery in new M&M vehicle. Anyway iam told all new M&M vehicles come with brogwarner transfer cases right from Major (manual) to Scorpio (electric). Only few pickup versions have T18 running in them now.

This is for Sreeraj and Swastikviji.
I did a conversion of a link type 4WD BA10 jeep into a direct shift BA10 with 4WD.
We basically bought a BA10 direct shift gearbox and removed the rear housing and replaced it with the rear housing of the Link type gearbox and fitted the T18 transfer case to the direct shift gearbox.
One of the links on the gearbox is on the rear housing and has to be removed and a dummy put in place to block the hole. After that its all a straight forward fit.

@Jyobeb

Does the TCase input gear from the main GB have a dog clutch for the PTO?

No, but it looked like it was possible to fit a PTO with a little ingenuity.

Hi Sachin,

Any Lathe fellow can do it, my lathe fellow told me that he is making bushes with bi metal, its more durable than brass bushes. it can't be made as a standard for all linkages, because of wear, if you can't do it their you send me the linkages i arrange it here.

Thanks for the info Jyobeb...Please help me find a 2wd BA10 and the 4wd adapter for the T18. Where can I source them from for my 2000 and 2001 MM 550s (ex army) ?

Re: Need advice:MM 550 BA 10 : 4x4 gear box direct Shift.

2WD Ba10 gearboxes are very easily available, whereas the 4WD adapter plate is impossible to procure. I think that we should just ask "jeepgeorge", to cast us a few sets!

Re: Need advice:MM 550 BA 10 : 4x4 gear box direct Shift.

@Guys/Beboy

Wonderful information though I am bumping into this thread late..

Can anyone think of reducing the gear shift throws in the KMT 90?

It would then be an amazing gearbox.

I'm told BA10 is a short life gearbox [read flimsy not robust] and NGT 520/530 4WD are hard to find..

BA10 GB can be easily converted to NGT530, there is a standard kit available for this, if anyone is interested let me know, I will share the part nos.
