Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Your Gypsy is nicely coming up and a nice Gypish color to go with (referring to the Gypsy tribe ). But I guess the surface requires refinement for the paint to shine out as currently it is looking dull. Also why the yellow?

Let us wait and see what is delivered to me. In fact, I am not too choosy about shade of colour.

Nice going sir. I feel you could have extended the cabin a bit more for the seats to recline further. You never know when you might need it.

Your comments are welcome and well taken.

I have enough space behind the seats for placing normal bags as the Gypsy is being made Two-Seater only. Cabin sizing etc. shall be shown with Scale / Measure tapes at critical place at the last.

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Hi Amrik, are you considering adding power steering before upgrading the tyres?

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Hi !

I do not intend to add Power Steering. Alloy wheels are on the agenda, but shall have to wait for around 2 Years as the Gyp shall be parked un-attended. My house as been demolished for reconstruction including parking.
I had replaced my Tyres to 215/70-15 Tubeless ever since I took the Gyp.

High Beam Lights are on the agenda but shall have to wait. I shall be visiting US during May and shall bring some stuff from there. I had selected a Pair of Optilux H71020801 Model 1900 12V/100W Chrome Halogen Driving Lamp Kit costing $61 which I shall bring in next visit. I have already received Hella H71010301 Optilux Model 1250 12V 55W H3 Fog Light Kit with Carbon Fiber for $37 which shall be mounted on Fender. (Pictures shall be displayed separately).

Any / all suggestions are welcome.

I have already

Regards,

Amrik Singh

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

My Gypsy designer has advised me to get Maruti Desire or Wagoner Steering Wheel to repace the Original on Gypsy.

Please advise me on this replacement whether it will look good and which steering wheel would fit the best.

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

I would go with aftermarket racing style leather wrapped wheel. When I lived in india (14 years ago) they were popular and plenty of nice options. I bet now you have even better options.

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Amrik the gypsy seems to be turning out well. Did you get the seats remade or used a different vehicle's seat? Also how much do the chequred sheets weigh? I am also planning a similar set up but want a triple folding one which can be mounted on the roof when required otherwise should fold along the floor or under the rear benches when not required. Also are they sturdy enough to say hold 2 adults without bending?

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Dear Mr. Wanderer,

The Gypsy is expected to be delivered to me by this weekend. I shall be able to answer all your queries with Pics then.
We seriously doubt the Chequer plate to withstand the weight. We also understand that further to weight bearing, impact by anyone jumping on it or any cargo bouncing on it can damage the sheet, I have done enough bracing inside to counter this.

More later,

Regards,

Re: Another Gypsy King Joins

Aaaagh Little progress to share.

The front Indicator lights have been selected to be ones used on 'TATA Ace'.
Just for something differrent as I did nott like the King's originals.

The Headlights have been replace with newer model Originals.

Additional fog lamps (shown in previous Pictures) shall be fixed prior to takeover from Garage.

The Circular cuts in the frong Bumper for lights have been provided / welded with 'Steel Kada' (Steel bracelet worn by Sikhs) around the edge.

For your expert review and comments. Hopefully I shall take delivery this Saturday and shall be able to post more Pics with details.
