i've had this 9 years now and what can i say, i love it!
.........nb: the isz 1800 is the same engine that did service on the contessa and the ambassador...........
This is the only model of jeep i wanted to have for multipurpose use after getting to know about jeeps. Refinement of ISZ petrol with 5 speed 4x4 gearbox...what else can you ask for! Lucky you. And it comes for a shock to many people (don't know why!!) that the same engine used in Amby & Contessas can be used in jeeps also. My jeep is running on a similar set-up (though the engine is carb and not mpfi) and am really happy with it.

This is my friends 540 with an Army Spec550XDP heart.

Shot at Masinagudi on our way back after fixing the half top. Apologies for the sad pictures, shot in the evening.

Alloys would be a distant probability, its just for bling. I like them Jeeps on gypsy rims.

Hi Santosh,

I bet the Jeep performed well at the OTR, but just fail to understand why you did the mods on the grill and doors???

Overall it sure does look like a promising offroader.

Cheers !!!!!

Randeep, he did not do the modifications to the grill. He bought the Jeep that way. There is a thread running on his acquisition.

Nice classic. I hope you will have no problem with police regarding the bull bar.
Design of bull bar somhow not balancing with the design of jeep. This is what I feel, not meant to hurt you.

That's where you go when you are really desperate to buy a Jeep. And you get conned big time too, if you don't have the right knowledge or connection.

yep randeep, as Beejay said, it came with it. I did not do any tinkering painting since I was broke already and it was festive season in India. Rest of the work next year only. PS- Doors served their purpose during night travel to keep the excess chill out. Also my family loved it since thats the only missing link from their beloved Indigo and this.

You just increased you overall approach angle by a good 30'. Are you sure you want to compensate that?

Edit - and the 2 extra headlights will be the 1st to break off during any simple OTR. Mine bumper area there already took a few bad scratches. PS - At least they will look a 'swyaambu-lingam' (Read 'came-out-of-no-where-rock-God), after a slushy OTR...
