re: All Team-BHP 4x4 Jeep Pics!

Just cross-posting a few pics from my ownership thread. Have posted pics earlier when it was black. Now its matt graphite grey. This is temporary. Will soon be a different/interesting shade of dark grey/silver. The soft-top as you may notice was a 'jugaad' done as we had a few hours left before we left for Mcube and couldn't have driven a topless jeep 700 kms one-way in the monsoons . But now I like the look so will get a top made that will be fairly similary in profile.

Me & My Jeeps.
They are in order of traffic signal light's colours.
My wife is an avid Jeeper too Thank God for small mercies though.

Deadly combination of 3 Jeeps in varying chassis lengths, What say folks? Your comments welcome.

Agree with Dhanush, the above post. Jeeping is a way of Life. The pickup has retired from active Offroading, its now my daily drive to office, the 540 is the Jeep to bash around. The 340 is a collectors item and it tears my heart to put it off-road. But then itsa' Jeep.

My Line up is my signature

re: All Team-BHP 4x4 Jeep Pics!

Here's two shots of our new used Marshal DI 4x4 - NGCS, disc brake conversion, Safari 6.5" wide wheels, Commander all-metal dashboard, and twin-lever T-18 transfer case. Otherwise stock. Okay condition as ex-taxis go and a reliable vehicle, but it will need some restoration and a few mods to get it where we want it. I'll post the entire story of my slim history with Jeeps and how we came to own this one in another thread in this section...

Scenery is Solang Valley, a little north of Manali, H.P., where car was busy hauling firewood back to our place for the winter. 4x4 was not a luxury that day - I'd have been stuck without it.

Regards,
Erik

"All stock" - excepting those monstrous tractor tires, which with everything else I'm sure could truly get you just about anyplace a vehicle could conceivably go! My curiosity compels me to inquire as to how much those treads affected your fuel economy; and whether law enforcement officials have ever harassed you on account (not that it wouldn't be worth it).

re: All Team-BHP 4x4 Jeep Pics!

Hi Erik,
Fuel economy goes for a complete toss it drives for 20-25 km for petrol worth 500 bucks and well that is what we offroad maximum on a sunday ,but yes it does all that a thar crde or other modern offroad machine can do , best part is the super silent engine with no diesel rattle.Law enforcement has not been problem yet and we take "off road" if they seem dangerous!!. My limitations are deep water fording that diesels can do well.It was interesting to read about your Mahindra marshal actually i am also thinking on these lines.

That's a very nice looking jeep. I prefer steel rims to alloys in a Jeep.

Where did you source those army rims from? How much do they cost?
