Thank you very much sir, I am big fan of your Thar and visit your thread at least once in a day. Your Thar's Italian HT and look of the jeep, was a booster for my decision otherwise I was just waiting for long 2 yrs for this decision.

I have clocked 800 +kms and will shortly start the ownership thread, you have to help me for many things, starting from front facing seats, SA roll bar to Italian HT. I am hoping that M&M make that HT available in affordable price.

Thanks,
Vishal

  2. New longer Chasis to accomodate the engine and GB
  3. Disc Brake with booster
  4. Maxi Truck front mount steering box
  5. Bolero Leaf springs
  6. MRF Wandrer tyres
  7. Tinkering and painting
  8. Canvas work
  9. Baleno Seats
  10. Pretty impressive ICE -- Not bad for a jeep
Have driven it down from Bhopal - Mumbai - Pune - Bangalore almost 1800 KM without any issues, drives like a dream. enjoying the the whistling turbo . Unlike my other jeep this one is a very sober looking yet has all the attributes of a JEEP.

Fahad
Hi Fahad,

I can see that you have bought this jeep from Bhopal. I have bought my Thar from Bhopal and have brought it to Gurgaon now. Where did you get the mods done?? Bhopal or somewhere else?

And your jeep does look good!!

Yes sir. Got them recently and now in the process of installing. Had than fan installed during the OTR as the fan was only an inch from the radiator and it touched it during articulation. Had seen that query in your rebuild and great solution to it. Please have a look at my thread My experience of rebuilding a Jeep and hope to have your guidance. This Jeep bug had taken me for some ride. Thanks again sir.

MM540 Modification

Dear Jeepers,

I have an old MM540 - 90 model 2x4. Originally it was painted in Olive green (ASPA paint).

Some of the mods include

1. heavy duty roll cage
2. back open with a 3 piece top
3. height increased to 3 inch by adding leaf
4. wider 235/70/16 ht tires on stock rims
5. 20l water can in the rear.

Please find the pics of it

Some modification planned

1. Install Power Steering
2. Brake Boosters with Disc Brakes (bolero disc so that i can use 160pcd alloys)
3. Change Clutch Assembly to make it smoother
4. Strip Down Paint
5. Install tail gate with wheel mount like rubicon
6. Fold wind screen
7. wheel spacers converters 139.7 to 160 - Rear
8. Cut front wheel arch to give more visibility to tires
9. Install 265/75/16 geolander tires

Please let me know your thoughts about the modification. Some of them have already been completed. I shall upload the pics shortly.

Thank you

Hi Chanu,

Do you happen to have any pics of the Jeep with the top off and the Windshield folded on to the bonnet? Would love to see them. I like the paint coat and I am sure you dont really like to go off-roading in the fear of scratching the paint.

Teja.

re: All Team-BHP 4x4 Jeep Pics!

Yes teja I never did off road on this and neither intended to do on any of my jeeps. An off road JEEP should be built for that purpose only.
