I am not sure if it's the LWB , the pre-restore pics I have does not have a side profile pic. This is the only other Side profile pic I have.

re: All Team-BHP 4x4 Jeep Pics!

Post my OHV intoxication it was time for the Jeep bug to bite me, couldn't stay away for long. Its a 1966 2WD, 3spd. A lot needs to be done before it gets even close to some of the fantastic jeeps on this forum.

@Sreejeshmp & Dhanushs would like to meet up with you guys sometime and get tips on making this off-road worthy. Planning to do work in parts, so immediate needs are a new soft top and original mudguards (curved). Any idea what would it cost me. Also a indication on the 4WD conversion would help me prepare for the next spend.

The steering play is a bit too much and was told by mech the link rod needs to be changed but wouldn't sort the problem fully. Any thoughts on this.

Hi Abhilash,

Why can't you start a thread about you jeep ? You will get all the help needed for your jeep to make it off-road worthy from the group .

What engine it had ? is it the CJ500D's International Engine ?

Hi Abhilash,

Like sreejesh mentioned, do start a thread on the same. You will get a lot more help than us!

Re: 4x4 Conversion, Please chose a reliable workshop. Get a right offset 48" (?) axle tube, a T18 single or double lever transfer case, a front complete axle assembly. While at it, make sure your rear and front diff ratios match. Get a front prop shaft, adjust the length of the rear prop shaft. Get a GB mainshaft. New U-Joints, star. Get new oil seals, bearings and stuff..

Put all of these together (have i missed anything?). Coupled with the SWB you have, you should have a very capable off roader. And yes, please change the tyres too.

Re: Body work, right now, the hood and body seems fine, so, if it were me, I'd sort out the mechanicals 1st!

Re: Steering, if not changed recently, please change all ball joints, if needed remove and overhaul the steering box, or get a new one. Change/overhaul whatever is inside the front right and left hubs. Make sure it moves freely when jacked up!

I think that should do it. Rest when you start a thread...
