One more thing, previously the steep sigur ghats were done in 2nd gear without brakes. Now it is done on third gear, without brakes.
Could you please eloborate the above statement? Are you saying while coming 'down' the steep ghat, now you can do 3rd feeling more secure than in 2nd (as earlier).

Do you think it is the new clutch rather than compression, that is aiding this new feeling?

Gurus...?

Re: Jeep -Cj340. Heart over Mind

Thanks to Tejas, I was able to find the original soft top for the Cj340.

Here are the pictures. Took 5 hours to fix, needs a bit more attention. Driving down to Cochin today and hope the top stays on. Will get back and fix.

Pleasure to help buddy. Sorry didn't have time to inspect the top before shipment. Thankfully it turned out fine!

Five hours! Why? It used to take me no more than 30 minutes.

Firstly, I decided to fix it on a cold afternoon in Coonoor and the material was hard. Second I replaced some body clips and had the same riveted. The buttons near the door were not aligned and had to be removed and riveted again.
The lock handles were a puzzle also.
Thankfully when I traveled to Cochin the top became a bit flexible due to the sun and I was able to pull and fit the same properly.

Now it should take lesser time to remove and also fix.

Re: Jeep -Cj340. Heart over Mind

Hi,

Got a set of five new wheels for the CJ340.

15" 8.5J,139.7PCD, Hi Join Wheels. 4500 per wheel.

Running on 215/75. It sure is an overkill, but there were no 6 or 6.5J wheels. Spoke to a few people and they told me, to just put it and not to use of road.

Moreover I got a set of 4 NDMS. Will use that of road.

Yes, its a bit warm these days. Yet, I do not have an AC on mind. I guess this is about it. Now just driving and no spending. Fingers crossed.

Re: Jeep -Cj340. Heart over Mind

Finally convinced myself and got Maxxis Trepadors 235/75 R15. This way now I can stick with the 8.5J rims.

Its doing pretty good. I took it off road last afternoon, grasps quite well. Thanks again for the timely advice, not too much info on the OTR tyre thread.

Regards,
Performs pretty well on road too.
Paid 7000 per tyre.
Availability seems to be an issue. I had ordered for 9 tyres.I only received 6, yet to receive 3 more. I am assuming there is only one guy who imports them. He sent it from Delhi to Blore and I transported it to Coonoor.
I will post more pictures.

OT. Where did you get the rear extension fenders that you sent Dr. Madhu for his 540/ Those look exactly like the original 340 fenders. Do you have any more?
