No idea about turbo in qualis engine, innova engine can be transplanted into jeeps but the major problem will be wiring.

Changing a stock XD3P engine with a qualis engine will not improve the off-roadability of the MM550XD in anyway. The only advantage is that engine along with the BA10 will make it a lot more refined.

Not a good idea! Most of the Toyota 4WD have their front drive shaft on the left side!!!

Which engine is that?
The R150F transmission had the front output shaft to the left.

I don't know the exact engine, the Jeep belongs to Shakir Ahmed who is a silent member here I think.

Should be a G52 gearbox. Good gearbox and should be a right fit. I stand corrected!

re: A restored MM550 and how...

Now the Qualis MM550 is undergoing engine run-in. It is able to effortlessly cruise at 110-120 on the NH17. AC is a chiller, engine is almost noiseless. A Warn 8000lb winch just got installed. The winch plate was bent in Mangalore since nobody could do it in our district.

These photos were taken quite late in the evening, sorry about the poor quality and noise.

The winch.

re: A restored MM550 and how...

Very nice a clean looking transplant. Thanks for sharing.

Apart from the 18k for the engine, could you share some costs?

This would work only with the BA10 GB? Would not be possible with the T18 box?

No plans or rerouting the exhaust or use a smaller silencer chamber? Thats gonna hit during some serious offroading isn't it?
