I'm not asking for the address and passcode to enter Fort Knox!!!

And in the same sense, nor is it allowed to put up pictures of someone else's Gypsy and that too with number plates visible. Infact this is even team-bhp's policy!!!

Anyways, if and when you do feel like sharing details with us, please do; until then, i'm out of this discussion.

Thanks. I saw it. In fact someone also posted it in the "where to get 4x4 accessories" thread as well.

It's the all too secret attitude that ticked me off.

Superwinch UT3000

One of my friend was coming back from Canada I requested him to get me a Winch. I checked few stores online & found Superwinch UT3000 in Canadiantire stores. He was not bringing much stuff along so was able to carry it along. Now I feel I was too quick in making the decision as it is too small for the GYPSY. Check out the specification on the Super Winch website. UT3000, 3,000lbs Utility - Superwinch

Harneet,
The 3000lb winch is meant for ATV's.
The calculation for winch load is approx 2 times the weight of your vehicle
(abroad they recommend 1.5 times the vehicle weight)
Please note that for this calculation you have to take fully laden weight.
The gypsy for this calculation is approx 1250Kgs (unladen weight is a little below 1000kgs) 250 kgs extra for tyres/rims, ICE, OTR equipment, driver n co-driver etc.
The minimum recommended for gypsy is a 6000lb winch
Cheers

Hey Gypsy Boy,

Thanks for the details about the Winch minimum recommendation. I wish I knew it before hand. I guess I can use this one for the Trailer\ATV that I was planning to buy in the future.

Cheers
Harneet

Contact the store and ask if they will exchange it with a higher capacity one. Then ask your friend to carry it back. He can then either ship it to you or send it back with someone else.

It will be very difficult to sell this one in India.

I think you should get a minimum 8000lbs winch.

I would look for a 8-10000lbs Winch. I guess i am stuck with this one because my friend is not going back anywhere soon & the shipping to Canada for 10kg Winch is too costly.

I am also looking for a performance air filter & Exhausts for the Gypsy. Kindly suggest what are the best options available.

Cheers

4.5 is simply too much.
Even with all the kits, addons etc etc I thought that it should be priced between2-2.5 lacs. Its a 15-20 year old model after all

This is way way too much. Even if we all all the accessories that they have installed in the vehicle the total tab shouldn't be more than 2 or 2.5L MAX!!!
