Re: 3 Jonga's

Wurth is a great material. Ive used it in many of my restoration projects and am now going to give both my Jeeps a Wurth underbody and inside floorpan covering of Wurth. The cans are a bit more but direct spray. You get cans of Wurth which one has to use a spray gun for . They are a bit cheaper but for a DIY, these cans are perfect. Excellent stuff, highly recommended.

Viji You getting the Jonga to Bombay for the OTR weekend in July?

You might be surprised as i was.. but my jonga did a very respectable 8kmpl (full tank to full tank) . I did a couple of highway run-ins with speeds of upto 110kmph (on GPS) occasionally as she is still being run-in.. with potential to go faster while accelerating like a car!!

On the trail, I'm yet to find out.

Re: 3 Jonga's

Since there is no reply to my earlier query, I might as well add a fourth Jonga to the list, my 1964 Nissan Patrol, one of the first to come to the Indian Defence Forces before production started at Jabbalpur. It was bought and reconditioned in 1987 from the son of a retired JCO.

I have modified the doors to take roll-up glasses, with Ambassador levers for that and lock, and changed the rear to take a single door with quarter-glasses on two sides (dustproofing it) while retaining the soft top. Engine and drivetrain left stock, only an electric fuel pump fitted in parallel to the mechanical one. Unfortunately I had to fit radial tyres in place of the 7.00-16 NDMS, the latter being no longer available. Next time, maybe, I will fit the 7.50-16 Sandgrips.

Those familiar with the Jonga will notice the difference with the NP in dash layout and gauges.
