Hello there. I’m getting a Kia Seltos in a couple of days. And after a lot of back and forth, the dealer has finally agreed for a PDI. He is not sharing the VIN before the PDI. also where can I get the exact manufacturing date of a Seltos from the VIN. Can someone help me by pointing to a website or a tool that will help me decipher. The official Kia website only says the year of manufacture can be deciphered, Not the month. I see posts here pointing to the exact date from VIN.

The point being I will come to know the VIN only on the morning of the PDI, I.e the day after tomorrow. I will not have the luxury to post it here and get it checked.

Please help me out.

Would you know as to what would cause this error message, as I am gonna do PDI for this vehicle today.

Of late, I'm getting this error on a lot of VIN searches. No idea why.

I guess the barcoded stickers on your car could reveal some info about production date/month during the PDI. Else ask the dealer to share a copy of Form 22 or some document that states the month and year of manufacture. Be rest assured that this is a 2022 vehicle as the 10th VIN character is N.

Thank you so much. This was godsend. I tried to create an account and tried to login but did not allow. Got the “not available in your region” error. Tried to change the country to USA, Germany, S.Korea but no luck. Finally chanced upon another post that asked to try with Finland. This worked.

The dealer finally shared the VIN and it’s all good.

Thanks a lot. My dealer was mentioning that you cannot check VIN anywhere except in our online software, so it is of no use for you. I guess he didn't know about the helpful experts in teambhp :)

There's no trustworthy website to decode Volvo VINs. As per some free online tools, this car is a MY2022 XC90 made in Chengdu plant.
