You can check with the showroom staff and they should be able to provide 19 character VIN information.
I'm not sure about the location of the VIN in the KIA cars, but in the Hyundai cars, it's mostly stamped under the driver's seat.

Hi @Satya_ip, I also received a 17 character VIN / Chassis number from the dealer today for the Grand i10 NIOS. While just like your case I was able to confirm from the 10th character (R) that it is 2024 make but not sure how to identify the month. Can you check when you received the 19 digit VIN number, if the initial 17 characters were the same as what the dealer had provided to you or was it different.

The first 17 characters should be the same.

Check with showroom personnel; they should be able to provide you with a 19-character VIN. Alternatively, if you have access to your allocated car, you can usually find it stamped under the driver's seat.

Yes, the whole 19 digit VIN will be stamped under the driver seat. When you will go for PDI, you can ask your SA or anyone who is helping you for the PDI to locate the complete 19 digit VIN. The last 2 characters for me was *C. It will show the month of manufacturing.

If you go through the screenshot attached to decode the month of manufacturing, you will be able to identify 'C' stands for 3rd month, i.e. March.

It is like A - Jan, B - Feb and so on. Please note that alphabet 'I' is not used.

Also, as you had asked me if VIN given to me by the dealer matched with the actual one - so yes, it matched for me and will match for you also as it is originally provided by the manufacturer and dealer just share it with us.

The VIN appears to be incomplete. Could you please check it again? Anyways, it's a vehicle manufactured in 2024

Thanks ! I thought as much that some part of it is missing. Looks like they took it from what is pasted on the window. I will do a PDI tomorrow where I will check the proper VIN which usually is near the driver's seat for Hyundai.

Re: ARTICLE: Find your car's date of manufacture (VIN)

Hey Folks,

I found this amazing thread and went through some of it. I am looking for an owner's manual of my 2005 Toyota Innova 2.5 Diesel online. Since this is a pre-owned car and the owner couldn't provide me with one. I located the owner's manual section on the Toyota Bharat site but it asks me to add a 14/17 digit VIN/Chassis number. I checked my vehicle and the RC for the Chassis/Vin number and It goes : KUN40~7011555 0605. (0605) being the date of manufacture that is: June, 2005. But these in total are just 16 Digits which is weird. The Toyota Bharat site only accepts 14 or 17 digits to download the manual online. I did check a few Toyota Innova videos on YouTube who were from the same year and found that there were 16 Digits on them as well, mainly the ones which have a KUN Suffix. I am urgently looking for an owner's manual. If I am wrong at finding the VIN or have noted the number in a wrong way then please feel free to correct me. Thanks!

Also, did Seltos recently updated/shuffled any variants or features in March 2024?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It’s a 2024 Kia with a CVT transmission model. You will need a 19-digit VIN to understand the month of manufacture. A showroom person can help you, or you can find it stamped under the driver’s seat.
