Sam, I can't find the 1202 and 1204 sub parameters. Could you also tell me how much they cost?

By the way, I got the number of the person who sells peerless india drivers in Mumbai. But the problem is, as Navin said, getting it to Bangalore. And I also have to check them before buying them. I cannot do that.

1202 is a dual voice coil sub, there is no sub-driver called 1204.

Fs 24
Vas 100
geez this thing can go low if put in a large box.

I would recommend the aperiodic box about 2cu. ft for this.

at 2 cu. ft. Qts will jump to 1+ so using a aperiodic vent you can bring the Qts down to a more manageable 0.8 or so.

BTW this is back of the head calculations. use Box Model or Box Plot or Perfect Box for a more accurate box.

Sam, I have another big favour to ask you. Could you let me have the TS parameters for GT4-10 and GT4-12 too. I want to have a look at their figures too.

Do you guys think something like two 10 inchers would beat the daylights out of my neighbours? Or should I stick to just one driver?

advantages of using 2 10 v/s 1 15" (similar to advantages of using 2 8" over 1 12")

15": lower Fs, higher Xmax and so usually a 15" moves more air than 2 10", huge Vas - in most cases 2 10" will need a smaller box than 1 15.

10": Smaller Mms and higher BL/Mms ratio which means that the bass can be made quite tight. With a 15" you would get some bloom. Then again I have used 18" with little bloom.

unless we know the specs of saythe GT4-10 vs the GT4-15 we cant accurately make a decision on this.

Navin, do you remember Arasu from diyaudio.com. I had totally forgotten that he makes drivers apparently of fairly good quality. Do you have any info on that?

I am sure you mean 'boom'. Unless the subs in question are actually flowering.

No. Arasu is the Bangalore guy. He has one 12 inch sub. Vas=156L. P=100W. Xmax=8mm. Qts=0.45. Rubber surround. Paper cone I think but not sure. About 2K. The Vas is really high, don't you think?

So they are not worth trying? I am okay with a big box but not too huge.

I would look at a box between 40-80 liters. I know this is a huge range but I think 40 liters might just work in your car.

Fresh problems. Arasu does not have 10 or 12 inch drivers in stock. Only 8 inch ones. They are rubber surround sandwich cone. 40W, Xmax=4mm. fs=28Hz. Qts is around 0.4 or something. Now what?
