In grey market it might be. I don know the price of 605 but the pioneer is for 10.5k each.

$ 210 for 510 and $ 260 for 605

25% more. now that is the difference. for 80% of the cost of the 605 the Pio is just as good VFM as the 605.

the prices of mrd-605 ->14.5 k and pioneer ->10.5k. these are karol bagh delhi prices.

Out of two,i would go for alpine 605.

As navin said both r VFM so it boils down to his budget now.

panky, the 605 has more headroom than the 510. hence VFM depends on how much headroom you intend to have.

If you can afford the 605 get it. If you have better use for the $50 get the 510 it will do it's duty well.

VFM is Value for Money.

Headroom, hmmm... Lets say your car was going pretty fast at 100kmph. But if the car was capable of doing much more (say 200) it would be much more stable than another car (also doing 100kmph, but it's max is 120kmph)

Therefore if both cars needed to do 100kmph, the one capable of doing 200kmph when needed would have, more headroom. The result is better erformance when needed and more stable performance at the desired parameter.
