I just got my car damped with Dampmat Exceed and it has made enormous difference. The rattles have gone, 30%+ improvement in music quality, door thud has crept in and overall outside noise has reduced
It should cost you 1000/sheet, or 8K for a bulk pack (9 sheets). Small car would need at-least 2 sheets per door and a SUV could need 2.5-3 sheets per door.
I got a total of 12 sheets in my car : 3 sheets for front doors, 2 sheets for rear doors and 2 sheets for the boot

Hey Gaurav,
Where are you based. And how did you procure the dampmat. I want to do something similar to my ride in Mumbai and am looking for installers.
Thanks,
Hi, I'm based out of NCR. I went to one of the dealers (motor concepts) in dealer - They specialise in ICE setup and they had the mats with them
You can visit their FB page and contact them and I'm sure they will guide you how to procure it in Mumbai (its also available on eBay)

Going through this thread, and also looking at some videos in YouTube, I feel that my Swift also needs some dampening for cabin quietness. Where in Kolkata I can go for these type of sound dampening job?

Hi gaurav013, The way the Dampmats are placed, I got a question. Is it easily removeable? I mean in case of any repair or maintenance job, can you just pull it off?
Can someone recommend a non expensive but good damping solution for doors, parcel tray, and boot. I am looking to get better sound effect inside car but DampMat or Dynamat is quite expensive.

What kind of budget you have in mind, I got mine done for 1.2k for each door with STP and some local brand. I don't have any damping in the boot or the tray.

If STP ended costing you that much then I might as well as get DampMat, its better and almost at same prize.
I was thinking of getting parcel tray & boot done for like 1k. Front two doors for another 1k max.

I have used 1.5 sheet of STP and local damping material on each door hence the price , only stp or the local brand anyways would be cheaper. You can try using the local mats which is available for 500-600 per door
Hello folks,
Need some advice here - I'm looking to damp my car ( an Alto ) comprehensively, i.e. roof, floor, doors, & hatch.
I have with me :
1 x Dynamat-Xtreme bulk-pack ( 36 sq.ft )
2 x Dynamat-Xtreme door-kits
6 x Wurth damping sheets
A) How many more bulk-packs would I need to damp the remaining areas ?
B) I'm looking at bulk-packs from DampMat & STP - could anybody who has used these products provide some feedback ?
Asking since I was told that DampMat is difficult to get into corners compared to STP.
Besides, on another forum there were some pictures of DampMat sheets developing cracks, hence would like some long-term reviews of both DampMat as well as STP.
C) Should I hedge my bets & get one each from both ?
D) Or would I be better off just getting another DynaMat-Xtreme bulk-pack ? Although I've been told that it's out-of-stock & it's availability unknown.
Got the following prices from a popular online automotive store :
- DampMat Damping - 36 Sq.Ft - INR 8,990 to INR 8,090
- STP - Flex - 40 Sq.Ft - INR 9,990 to INR 8,990
- SoundStream DeathMat - 36 Sq.Ft - INR 10,990 - INR 9,890
- DampMat Damping v3 - 36 Sq.Ft - INR 11,990 to INR 10,790
- STP - Silver - 40 Sq.Ft - INR 12,490 to INR 10,990
- STP - Gold - 40 Sq.Ft - INR 17,990 to INR 15,490
- DynaMat Xtreme - 36 Sq.Ft - INR 19,990 - INR 16,990
.
I have damped my car similar to what ::CMS:: has done. Few pictures :
Front left door WIP.
Front Right door WIP
One layer of tar sheet skin added to close off any holes after damping the interiors
Hatch finished in the same fashion
Boot, spare wheel and rear floow damped
Rear wheel arches not spared :p
Whatever has been done works well but I'll take it to the next level, inspired and with lots of help from ::CMS:: :thumbs up
Sunnyboi, where did you get the tar sheets ? I am looking for some decent ones like whta you got here.
What's the thickness of this tar sheet ?
