Buying Sony will be a natural disaster (pun intended :)). You will get many better options and combination for the budget you have other than Sony.
Sony products are not the best when it comes to ICE.

If you are in Delhi, try and seek help from Gunbir for advice and installation.

hey guys,
I am about to get the delivery of my swift Vdi within 10-15 days.
I want all of you respected audio gurus to help me out regarding my ICE selection as iam not very technically sound in this field. My requirements are:-
A decent HU with Auxillary input and USB.( Preferably a Pioneer)
Component speakers for the front.
Coaxial speakers for the rear.
Amplifier( if in budget)
The budget is of 15-18k max.
Iam getting the car from chandigarh and hence also want your suggestions- as to should i get the car Iced from there or from NCR as i stay in noida.
Please refer any good installers in chandigarh AND Delhi.

@ Eddy,

thx
ND

There's a statement that will delight their marketing department!

I've had my Swift for about 15 months now, and I'm still trying to decide between ice and pete's box.

Good luck with your purchase

Please comment on the below setup, this was suggested to my friend by one of the dealers in coimabtore. If he could better with a budget of about 30k what can it be?

HU: Alpine 9887
Fronts: Polk 6501 compos
Rear: Alpine (Can't remember the model number)

HU: Eclipse CD3200
Fronts: Cerwin Vega compos
Rear: Alpine

thanks for any inputs

Both Polk and CV are quite bright. I would suggest less bright speakers.

Does that Alpine 9887 have 'usb' intput ?

If your budget is 30 K - how will you manage ?
The 9887 itself costs about Rs. 22 to 24 K [not sure of the correct price] !!

THe 75.4 is a better amp than the other 2 but also more expensive and also discontinued (that does not make a bad amp, just a discontinued one).

Right on. Maybe he means 9881.

Hello Everyone!

Finally I got my Swift VDi ABS last saturday and now am thinking about the ICE.

I have a Pioneer 3050 and JBL GTO 937 speakers that were taken from my previous car. While I am going to reuse the HU, I am really confused about using the GTO 937 speakers. This is because I do not want to fix them on an immovable plank at the rear. I would prefer a removable tray at the rear and this would mean that the speaker wires should be disconnectable so that the complete plank comes out, if required.

Is it possible to devise an arrangement where we can achieve this without damaging the connections to the speakers during the course of use?

Please help!

Thanks in advance
Rajdeep

possible using the corrector speaker clips.you can also use male-female terminlas from MX or speakon terminals too(2sets)

the mdf rack will need 4 pcs cylindrical rods about 8mm dia fitted in the exact locations of the stock tray
(have done the same in my car too

Hi, I have a Swift VXi 2008 Model.
I want to add ICE to it.

I already have 6x9 Kicker ES693 speakers for the rear which i got from UK
Car Audio Direct - Kicker ES693 - Speakers

i now want
- HU (i only have info about pioneer 4050/5050)
can u suggest something better with USB for around 5-6K

- Component speakers for front(door mounting)
how is Kicker DS650.2
Car Audio Direct - Kicker DS650.2 - Speakers

also DS650.2 being a 6.5" comp. will they fit into the door slot of Swift ?
I do not want any cutting which would VOID my car warranty.

Please suggest some good comps. if the above are not-so-good

Also, a general question, I dont see people recommending Kicker products in this forum. As far as i have heard they have quality products. what exactly is the problem here, is the steep pricing? or there are issues with quality??

I like kicker - good product;
Go for that - will match your 6 X 9 in the rear.

p.s. Why did you buy a 6 X 9 for the rear ? The Swift has a dedicated space on the rear door too for a 6" component speaker.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...-pictures.html

Just to give you an idea.

Never put a 6 X 9 in a 'hatch'
My opinion - I prefer 6 X 9's only in sedans.....

In a Hatch - Boot space is very important.
[This is a different thread alltogether] !!

Well i had bought it on my friends recommendation as it was a good deal.
- Anyways question about HU still remains

-Also i want to be sure that there are no issues with warranty for 6.5" comps as i going to a local installer for that at sion-koliwada

-Also do i need dampening because i have heard that vibrations from speakers can cause problems. if so is there any specifc brand for the same or should i trust the local installer for that.
