Yeah that works too, he had asked a question on bridging, and i clarified it, that it can happen on an amp but not ona head, thats it, amps have various ways to be wired , hence the applications.

You're wrong about this too.

Pioneer head units with DSD (Direct Sub Drive) allow you to configure and hook up the rear channels in mixed mono mode to a subwoofer with impedance as low as 2 ohms.

I know what your saying ant. Some of the earlier kenwood amps had a input selector (A, AB) and nowadays 4 channel amps, need 4 inputs.

Well if i was a newbie, i would buy a y-splitter. However i find it greatly satisfying to open up the amplifier and just jump the 2 input connections. That way i get an input into any channel AND a parallel out into the next amp for daisy chaining.

If i'm planning just front components in the car, is it possible to power them by bridging front L + rear L & front R + rear R channels of the Head Unit using DSD?

NO!! Please dont do that, or your HU will fry.

IF you have a DSD HU, you can bridge rearL+rearR and drive a subwoofer with it.

I dont think so as the name suggest it is DSD (Direct Sub Drive) and this feature is on rear channels only and that only for sub.......

this amp is in my wife's car. it is blaupunkt velocity 504. it can be configured as a 2, 3, or 4 ch. amp. I did not have to modify it or use a Y. I used ot love making amps (GTO has seen my home made amp in my Octy) but today just cant find the time (I have parts to make 3 amps and no time to do it).

Ok Guys,

I have finally decided on the speakers and HU.

Clarion HU whatever comes in abudget of 9000
Hertz ESK 165 for front
Hertz coax 6" for the rear

As per the the earlier rec I was going for Poineer 6100/6200 amp and pioneer 306c sub.

If I up my budget a bit can I get better Amp/sub combination? planning for a sealed encl since i am intrested in tight accurate bass than boooooom

Yes, this (hertz+clarion) choice is definitely a far superior choice to your initial all-pioneer choice. Go for it.
