With connection to what I said earlier, the boom Im trying to describe is the kind of sound produced when the HU "loud" feature is turned to the max. Of course the fact that there were 2 12" meant added thump.

Also the enclosures were custom made (at TopGear) for both the installs and my cousin had explained that under no circumstances he listened to hiphop and was more oriented towards trance. I can safely say that the install was of a pretty decent standard, even in those days.

Do they have something in the same price range and performance charteristics as the JBL GT4-12.

Guys, I am not asking this for any other reason but to look for alternates to the JBL GT4-12 which I think is great VFM. Hertz's offering (as well as Alpine and Polk) I think are more expensive.

Cheapest Illusion 12" sub for the moment is the Illusion Im12, which is a 250W 4-ohm SVC (same one that Mugen has 2 of). Listed at Rs. 9800/-

The JBL, I believe, is nearly half the price.

Yeah, the entry level GT-4 is about half that price.
The power and GTi are a tad expensive though.
