Re: The 2017 Honda City's ICE: Hidden menus, Bluetooth internet, Apps & more

How to reset 2017 Honda City's ICE?

Or at least how to remove previously paired phones?

Go to bluetooth menu and click on devices. You should see the list of devices paired. select the one that you want to delete.

I tried that, but when I click on tick box next to old device, it tries to pair with that device.

I have installed Google Maps in my 2017 Honda City Digipad. It accepts an older version of Google Maps apk (meant for Android 2.3 or lower).

It is very old app but works fine. It just needs a Wifi connection, so you need to turn ON you mobile wifi hotspot.

This just started happening a couple of days ago. Reset the HU twice, but didn't solve anything. I'm taking the car for servicing tomorrow, let's see if this can be covered under the warranty

My Suggestion: Simply ask them to replace it. I got mine replaced once for a problem much minor than this.

Hi Kanuj,

Just today morning, I have also encountered this ghost touch issue with the Digipad . I tried to do a factory reset, but wasn't able to fix this.

Were you able to fix this? Did you go for the complete unit replacement?

It went away on its own. But my son hit it one day and now the issue has returned. I've learned to live with it, it comes and goes randomly. It really is an awful piece of hardware and the only reason I'm still sticking with it is because it came with the car and I don't want to spend extra on another HU. Although on some days I really want to pull it out and throw it out of window, or maybe at the nearest Honda service center.

Good luck, try asking for a replacement at the ASS, they may be able to help.

Re: The 2017 Honda City's ICE: Hidden menus, Bluetooth internet, Apps & more

I wonder if we will ever see a firmware update to enable Android Auto / Apple Carplay? It's ridiculous that Honda ships this unit out with such a primitive version of Android OS. For units with Android 4.2.2 and above, there are a bunch of USB dongles available that add both Android Auto and Apple Carplay capabilities.

Also, have any of you managed to replace this HU with an aftermarket unit? If yes, recommendations please.

I read on Quora somewhere that someone sold their digipad on OLX for 8k and bought and installed one from aliexpress for $250. According to them the bluetooth, android, reverse parking camera etc all work. No mention of the brand they bought though.

Re: The 2017 Honda City's ICE: Hidden menus, Bluetooth internet, Apps & more

Mine is Feb 2019 model and the Bluetooth lag issue still exists. Reported in all three free services. They raised it with the company but got a revert that this is with all HUs in their stable so nothing to worry about and it is normal. I am pissed off with this response. Can anyone help how can I get around this Bluetooth lag. Sometimes I have to take calls while driving and it becomes confusing. Songs also play with lag. Unexpected this from Honda. Not sure if raising with Honda will help.

Just wait till the ghost touches and random freezes start showing up. The lag won't feel so bad then

Re: The 2017 Honda City's ICE: Hidden menus, Bluetooth internet, Apps & more

Hope this is the right thread to ask this question - has anybody tried to update igo maps from igo itself? My SA at Cherish Honda Gurgaon informed me that Honda has not renewed partnership with igo and if any customer wants an update to their maps, they will need to reach out to igo. Please do share the procedure if anybody has done this.
