I would like to clarify, there was nothing wrong with the subwoofer. Its just that it gave low bass, as it was designed too. I want mid range too, not just Bass&Trouble
The front compos did not do a good job of giving a rich strong "truck driverish" high bass and midrange.
I think I will listen to some bright setup too, maybe I like bright setups

Tanveer, JBL is a bright setup. I don't think your problem is brightness related. What you need is a more dynamic setup. After reading your comments, I strongly suggest you listen to the Hertz Energy comps. And for your setup, try and power your fronts well, say 100+ watts.

If you want dynamics, you need power. Considering you're on a budget I suggest you forego the sub for now, and concentrate on your front stage and amplification.

Another thing I need to mention here is that whatever you hear in a Swift, is not going to sound half as good in the Indica. The Indica and SQ dont get along well.

gunbir phaaji, the setup is not for the indica, its for the new car which will be a Verna or Safari.
Ok I can forgo the sub.
i think one of these days I will check out setups.
I want the front soundstage to give me a nice response from 100Hz upwards all the way to tweeter range.
Midrange should be strong.
In my indica I have a good strong midrange, but sound quality sucks. So I have the intensity and balance, but if volume goes high, the sound gets "phati phati".
But I only have HU+4 front+2 coax setup.
I am also not very fond of tweeting. Is there a nice 4" speaker which takes care of high midrange and tweeter frequencies?

Tsk, maybe the tuning of the system was setup that way. to give low bass and treble and the midrange toned down?

Did you try fiddling with the settings.

The tuning was pretty flat, normally in rock setting you have bass and treble high with midrange low, but in this case with treble and bass pulled down, the midrange was still weak. The vocals and the smaller drums along with the riffs sounded flattish. And I did not like the tweeter effect at all. I like to have nice treble but not the extreme edge.

Remember the live version of hotel california opening sequence.
there is just the treble and a "tak", with some bass
In such a setup the "tak" would get lost.

TSK, GUnbir,

I think what TSK is missing is a midbass hump. This can be tuned in. I know many friends who insist of a boost int eh 60-80Hz region. It boosts the midbass and gives them a feeling of attack.

At rock concerts we mike the drum set and use the levels to achieve this, besides the speakers used are a bit (shall we say) "different".

Yup, I think around the 60-200Hz range the Coaxials do a decent job, as do 6 inch loudspeakers in front. I am willing to get less kick in the sub 50Hz range if I can get good midbass, midrange and high tones with using
HU+ Front speakers+Rear speakers
Can I get rid of tweeters and use some nice 4" speakers there?
Do any component sets come with 6"+4" speakers instead of speakers+tweeters

But Tanveer, neither the Verna nor the Safari can take a 4" speaker up near the dash.

And why didnt you mention all of this on Sunday. We would have sorted you out there and then with a couple of demos.

Sunday was tire day . So I did not bother much with the ICE part.
I was in half a mind to start bargaining for the Sub/Compo setup you put up for sale, but then my ICE purchase is 2 months away.
As for the 4" speakers, I am really disheartened.
Is there any other place where I can put in some nice speakers. Worst case I will go for 3 way speakers in the front for a good front sound stage.
I know that will make the SQ bad.
Safari and verna both take in 6 inch speakers in the doors, and I saw a lot of space under the dash which is empty, can something be put there.
Otherwise I would have to go for front+rear soundstage, and I never sit in rear, so it will not help me much.
As of now my Sub plans are submarined, and I think I will go for HU+Amp+Front+rear setup.

Don't be... You can yet get what you want... just come around some day and get some of your music (original CDs, please) along.

I buy all my music online. What I like is normally not available off the shelf. Will that do?

I'm definitely wanting to be part of this great ancient ritual.

TSK, I suspect you had a bad demo. I really do. Try again.

Time for a redo I think.
Inspite of stereo being flat, the treble and bass were overpowering, with midrange, and 60-100Hz base being lost.
Will try to get some demo's
But inspite of that, I feel subwoofer is not something which will give me as much joy as a nice midrange punch.
