Navin-ji, @limpid didn't CHOOSE these, he was OFFERED these by a dealer.

Street popularity is mostly driven by smaller, more accessible dealers, obviously driven by positive or negative (non-moving stock) margins - seldom anything to do with sound quality or the fact that there can be individual preferences.

@limpid I had a chance to visit Torque for my ice needs.
The owner seems to be too smart and tries to take you for a ride.
If i were you i would stay clear of Torque.

front - 6.5 inch - CS-V625 - 1090

WHy will you get into trouble? I like JVC electronics. I just think there are much better speakers available.

Also he did suggest not to put a wooden plank and put 6x9 speakers at the back in swift and put all the speakers in the doors .

Also, many guys are trying to sell X plode, but did not like the sound quality.
Boston, Infinty, Polk (as well as Rainbow, DLS, Morel, Dynaudio, Focal, Illusion and Hertz) each have their own sonic signature.

Obviously there are few shop that will carry more than 3 brands. This is why it pays to carry your own CDs and a note pad when you demo speakers. listen to the music and find what you like and what you dont about the sound.

If you like a laid back sound I would look at speakers that use a pure silk or fabric dome tweeters - not composites especially not polyamide.

Not actually disregarding you here but how come Sony leads the world in consumer electronics and is the most revered name in the business if their speakers are crap ??

agreed

i could have got a similar model the KW XG 705 in grey for about 9K
but i wanted the black one which was just launched and not available without b&w (which adds upto peace of mind)

speakers can be upgraded as required,

right now I am content with the sound and the peace of midn that i can go back and get a replacement for the next 18 months at least if something conks off

Music is a matter of personal taste, all we can give is advice the decision finally lands in the ears of the person buying it

For the same reason that, though Dabur Lal Dant Manjan sells more units than a conventional toothpaste, conventional urban logic says "use toothpaste and toothbrush". Try it, you'll know the difference, and it will have nothing to do with the company (Dabur is no write-off, you know, nor is their Dant Manjan).

In reality there is no winner there - it is need versus solution/cost. For some, Sony speakers are 'awesome', to others 'awful'. And neither is wrong. What everyone will mention in this forum will be that other brands are better. Of course, the relativity can be expressed negatively also ('crap').

Sony's abilities are in marketing & sales, not product design, durability and 'quality'. A revered company it is not, by any means - it is just that you find Sony ON THE SHELVES EVERYWHERE - massive availability, not to be confused with functional excellence.

Guys i need your help.
I have a budget of 20K and i am in need of:

1 MP3 Head unit
2 Rear speakers [3 way]
1 Sub woofer
1 Amp [2.1 channel is ok]
2 front speakers

I will be fitting above things in my chevy spark.
Do i really need a 4 channel AMP?
I think a 2 channel Amp can drive 2 rear speakers and sub woofer comfortably. Am i right?

Any shops near MG road or koramangala? How abt Car shringar in front of Lifestyle?
Please recommend me best model that comes in my budget.

Samir sony is good for an average customer as a premium brand for their Music system, TV, Camcorders but if you are looking for perfomace product which is above average normal consumers known as Prosumers then you have to look beyond sony.
As many Gurus already said compare then tell us the results.
FYI now sony is struggling for its existence, Google it you'll come to know that even their LCD TV's are done by Samsung as they are not able to match the bentch mark set by Samsung.
Even i am a big sony fan and using their CRT TV, Handycam, Digital Cam, Music System but for my Car m sure that i am going for Pioneer with JBL's.Try to put some scratched Discs in Sony DVD or Car stereo and try the same stuff in Pioneer youll come to know the difference.

I was under the impression that high end CD players do not accept scratched discs, but low end players play them without a fuss. Is it really the other way round?

One advice needed from Gurus,
Which is better option
1) GTO755.6 amp to drive all 4 spekers and subwoofer or.
2) GTO75.4 to drive all 4 spekers and one Mono amp for subwoofer.
Any idea how much GTO755.6 will be.
