Install Pictures and a small review !

ok here goes the install pictures, two points to start with
1. The ICE is still bare bone with no amp and centre chennel speaker.
2. Centre channel speaker has been ordered and will be installed shortly. Alpine SBS-0515 is what i have chosen , it is a single din which will fit neatly in to the second DIN. It is an active speaker and has its own amp.

This is all that came with the JV KDAVX33, please note the MIC for the blue tooth phone features.

Ok these are the new JBL GT5 6x9 speakers in place...

These are the old speakers that i was using earlier Blueraven tells me that these are the the worst kind of fakes available , i got'em from Trivandrum car Palace so , guy be wary ! But they did deliver pretty decent sound to me for the past one year..

Now that the center part of the dash board pulled out , this was previously occupied by a Sony MEXR1

Wires for the JVC HU being hooked up to the existing wiring in the car

And there the HU is operational , note that the face palet is oversized so it is kind of jutting out of the place where the Sony MEXR1 HU used to fit in very snug

Another image of the HU playing a video .... i think from a DVD

Now thats where i have placed the MIC for the bluetooth phone feature of the HU . This is one featuire which i love the most in the unit. Using the remote control of the HU i can even make passengers make calls either by dialing numbers or by acessing the phone book on my mobile. The sensitivity of the mic has three setting high, medium and low , medium will pick up normal conversation of even rear seat passengers comfortablly , and thats where it has been set now.

I have aTHX demo DVD that i downloaded from somewhere and used this to check on the 5.1 capabilities on the HU , its very impressive even without the centre channel speaker. Note that the Sub wooofer is automatically turned off by the unit when ever it detects Dolby compatible media being played in 5.1 mode. I was travelling with my cousin and he got **** scared when the rear channel got activated for some sounds , it even sounded to me like some car had hit the rear part of my car. I had to stop the car and make him go around to confirm that there is no damage and it was just the 5.1 working at its best !

Since i had brought the HU from US i was expecting to have issues with FM reception, but it has none and will tune at any interval and the intervals can be defined too...

The setting on the HU are too extensive , and need a lot of dedicated time to get used to , but once run in these features are very very addictive.

For a first timer getting around these features and setting would be area night mare for sure ...alost a month now after the HU has been installed and i am still learning new stuff about it daily...

The HU was installed with the assitance of BlueRaven. Ty pal !

Planning to get AVX33. While checking I came across JVC KD-ADV38. Now I am not sure which one is superior and cost for both is almost the same.

Please help me decide.

sorry for the very delayed response, the JVC KDADV38 is from the Arsenal line up of headunits from JVC , feature wise the only difference i found was that difference in the coloring scheme on the HU to be red, the KD AVX33 came in blue dominate theme. i loved blue so i took it !

The price you have quoted seems to be fine , i brought it off amazon.com
you can set the region code , refer the user manual of the HU from the JCV website and you will find out how , this will address both the FM reception issues as well as the DVD region issue , and yeah it does play all the pirated DVDs that you can get ur hands on
