^^^

Amp heat sink/ plexiglass can be wiped with a soft cloth. If dust gets inside, a technician should be able to open and remove the dust.

Speaker cone, surround can be cleaned with a cloth too. Make sure the system is turned off when you're doing this. Be careful to not apply too much pressure, and in case you do, make sure the pressure is applied such that it is causing the cone to depress linearly. Slightly moist cloth is also fine to remove particles that may be stuck, in the case of your speakers. Dust cap pops back if depressed, so no worries there either.

Awesome Awesome Awesome setup.

I'm looking to ICE my future alto as well (thought not to as much extent as yours)

Just asking because i'm a noob:
Is an amp extremely necessary for the Illusions?
Would it do if I just got these and a sub?

I'm only looking for amazing sound in the front. Don't need rear speakers. So will this arrangement do?

BTW, I'd love to listen to the setup once

sure. well these illusions are the most wonderful components i have heard. i would advice you to run the illusions on an amp. u can omit the rear speakers from the install as well. currently i am just listening from the compos and the woofer with rear speakers off.

ok thanks. What if i eliminated the sub? Will SQ change in any way? Like you, even I prefer SQ to Boom. I may not have enough moolah to buy these, a sub, amp AND HU. Plus the "tod phod" of door/installation will also cost. (I dont dare Do-it-Myself)
(total 20k to spend)

What would you advise?
(I also have a separate thread in Ask Gurus section - dunno how to link)

20 k break up:

1.Pioneer HU 4050/5050 : approx 6.5 k
2.Illusion electra 6.1 : appox 6.5k - discount(if in pune i can get u a gud deal)
3. if u want a second hand JBL 75.4 amp u will get in 7500 approx.

plan a sub later on. or if u can stretch more 3-4 k u can also get a sub.

all done.

installation will be free. even the door cutting. you can have my reference.
