Are you they really lack in bass, the 6233i ?

If thats the thing, I'll think of some other speakers since I do not have the bidget for a extra sub.

Care to suggest some full range 6X9", close to 100USD, with good bass response.

Hi Guys,

I have shortlisted the following which are in my budget sourced from BestBuy.

Front Doors -
Sony - 6-1/2" 2-Way Car Speakers with HOP Woofer Cones (Pair) - XS-GT1625A

Rear Parcel Shelf -
Sony - 6" x 9" 3-Way Car Speakers with HOP Woofer Cone (Pair) - XS-GT6935A

Let me know if they are decent enough for quality bass and clarity. I am not too much into heavy metal etc So I feel that these should suffice along with a good headunit which I plan to get from India, maybe a Sony Double Din or Pioneer.

Why would you want to get these from the US, when BestBuy is selling for $52 & Sony India for Rs1700?
Have a look at this.
XS-GTF1625B : Speakers : Xplod™ Speakers / Subwoofer : Sony India

Why would you want to buy SOny Entry level speakers, BTW ?

You can get better speakers in that budget (in grey of course)

@ Draganov,
Honestly, why on Earth would anyone want to purchase Sony, that too from the States? If at all, 50-60USD is your budget for the components, then you'd be better off with Hifonics ZXI compos, check them out at UGotADeal.com
they are say 5 dollars over budget, yet, way better than Sony.
For the rears, if official prices do not appeal to you, then there's always the grey route. Check out, JBL's GTO, GT5, Blau GT, JVC for options, again way better than Sony.

Cheers.

@ nura , nitin.dangayach and St.Anger,

I dont have much clue about ICE hence my generalized liking towards Sony as a brand. And Secondly I assume that the speakers available in the US are of a better quality then what we get here even if its the same model (I maybe wrong, just my personal opinion).

But since you guys enlightened me, I think I would be better off with buying something like JBL, BLAU's or Pioneer and that too from India. Maybe I need to do some more research in terms of listening to various models available in the market over here and then decide.

Although I am inclined towards the JBL Components.

Thanks again for your inputs.

@Dragon - are you getting them online or buying directly from a Bestbuy store? If online try these options.

Amazon.com: Infinity Kappa 652.7i 6-3/4" 2-way car speakers: Electronics

Amazon.com: Infinity Kappa 692.7i 6"x9" 2-way car speakers: Electronics

These are well in your budget and will be way better than those Sonys. The first link has a combined buy offer with 6x9s. Look at Amazon for more options. If you can slightly stretch your budget, you could get a good pair of components too.

This is exactly why Sony is successful in car audio in India, big brand value to sell crappy products.

Last when I had been to few of the car accessory shops there, I found that there was quite a marked difference in the quality of sound in terms of bass and clarity even at low volumes. I saw very many brands like Boss, Visonik, Caron etc apart from the usual pioneer and sony stuff.

My requirement is that I would like to have set of good speakers / components for the front doors and coaxial for the rear doors or on the parcel shelf. As of now I do not plan to install a sub and amplifier. But at the same time want the system to have a decent pep.

Can anyone help. I need to decide in a day or two..
do try these components. have been hearing good reviews about them:
Elemental Designs

when I was searching for better components in US, I also heard that the Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 components are good for under 100 USD.
