Nitin - Amazon and J&R accept Indian cards. You can specify the billing address (your original billing address in India) and shipping address (your US address) in your Amazon account/profile. All the online purchase I made last December with Amazon were with my HSBC CC.

Guys wanted to know that incase we buy speakers or amps online from sites mentioned and ask them to ship to India, any idea what would be the cost of Shipping and will the custom duty be applicable? If yes what would be the percentage of the duty. Lets say if the product purchased is for 100$ then what would be the landing rate including the duty ?

Is it that the duty is not charged for anything that has invoice value below Rs.25,000/- ? Any idea about this?

25k duty free is possible only when you hand carry the baggage and is not applicable for the shipped stuff.

in case if you can convince the US seller to ship the item to India as a "GIFT" in customs declaration form that will be enclosed with the shipment, then there should not be any duty for 5k rupees value (ie, if the item costed 100 usd, then the value is calculated as 4300 rupees eventhough if the same product is 8k rupees in india).

and there are no hard & fast rules for the shipping charge. it all depends on the seller and trust me, it varies a lot (and depends on the weight/size of the product that you buy).

A few eg. sites/sellers who do international shipment:

Car Audio Video - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers
eBay Store - Extremeaudio Car Hifi Händler: 2 Kanal Verstärker, ProClip rechts v. Lenkrad oben

If the customs duty is levied, then it may be as high as 40%

Regards,
SKB.
