Thank you for your help...

Hey
I am planning to get the P8000BT from the US. At 249 USD, it looks like a steal. Any reviews for the same ?

Read the reviews of the same. But apparently the controls are all messy is what comments on Amazon say. I was also looking at the Pioneer DVD HU. But it has no in-built bluetooth capability.

yes

13.5 K seems to be going rate for the 'with bluetooth' model. I have seen it in action, and this was on my purchase list till the last moment , when I dumped it in favor of Kenwood DPX series. I own a fiesta - so 2 DIN was the way to go.
Only the American version of the player has bluetooth in built and 3 RCA pre-outs (Indian has 2 RCA Pre outs). So be careful in asking for that particularly if you want it. Looks wise- it is great, but I read massive tons of literature on it, and reviews too - and found out that a difficulty in controls is experienced by some, and also, monochromatic display (Blue). All this made me veer towards Kenwood DPX MP 5110U, which was under 10K (Gray), and multi color display with vario color HU option. . Now very happy with my decision.

Dpx

DPX 502 is a good earlier generation player .If I'm not wrong the DPX-MP5100U is the indian version of the DPX502. The good thing is- it has KME. It has that retro look, The newer 2008 models are the Kenwood DPX MP3110,4110,5110 etc.

If I want to exchange my existing Sony Xplod HU, 2 yrs old with Aux input, about 8K when purchased, for a Pio 2 DIN, what discount can I expect?

I'm not sure if such exchanges are possible in the first place.

One of my friend wants to put Pioneer P6050UB in his swift.
Wanted to clarify couple of things.
- This 2 din set can be fit to swift right?
- How is the quality of this set and also the price.

The Quality is good.
The 2 din will set the swift without a problem.
But there are better options than the 6050. Its totally how a pioneer should be.

Double din head units fits in swift without any alteration, As usual its pioneer so don't worry about the quality but as for the sound quality its not worth for the price it comes at (13k when i last checked in jan 09) if your friend prefer looks over quality then tell him he can buy this.

There are many other option in that price range (12k to 15k).

Any specific model numbers would be really helpful.
Any idea how much the Kenwood 5100 cost in gray market?

manson.
