It's far superior. Compare it to some Alpines too and you may be surprised.

The HU has a nice R G B mix option that lets you tune the color to the exact shade of your car's cluster lighting.

gunbir paaji i know this is a little ot, but then just wanted to know, are there better HUs with better sq than alpines? i know that alpines are bench markers here but then as far i have heard and seen it here in tbhp the only other brands they say that are better than alpines when it comes to Hus are the clarions and the eclipse are there any other brands better than these and are any available in India?

The break up !! Here it goes -
Front BULL compos - 5490
BULL Sub + Enclosure - 8490
Kenwood amp - 5000
Kenwood 6539 HU - 9500
Wiring - 1500 (2 sets RCA + amp power cable)
Damping - 2500
MDF rings (for the compos) and additional 2.5 m woofer wire ( my amp is under the front seat ) - around 1000
-----------------------------------------------------------
Total ------- Rs 33,500

Of this I was given 10% discount on BULL compos and subs because when I had inquired and asked for the quotation ( early Aug ) the were selling at old prices but when I got the installation done it was at new prices. Thanks Gunnu paaji for accommodating.

So after the discount and rounding off net was Rs 32 K. Only damping and amp are without bill. Rest everything is with B&W.

This saturday I'll be going to Driven for some work. See if you can come.

I actually quite liked the SW12 in your small sealed box. I am keen to know your experience though.

couldnt ride the car much.On my way back i was listening to Nusrat and Micheal Brooks and believe me..the music rocked and vocals were very clear!! Then switched over to some hardcore punjabi(Lehmber Style) and could feel the difference between that stupid orion sub and bull. The sub surely has the "KICK" Will post my review with pics of the setup ASAP, which means over the weekend!!
The only problem is that i'll have to shell out some more cash to buy my fav tracks on audio cds...these MP3s suck big time!!

Great VFM.
I am sure this must be 'sounding good' !

I love the idea - front comps + sub.
No need for a rear 'fill';;;;

Well done.

I do not understand subs - but - to my limited exposure 2 of the 3 subs talked about are very very different - in concept - design - sound - application & installation & not to forget 'price' !!!!

I have never seen the 'Bull' products - so I will not comment on the sub;

However, the other 2 - Illusion & JBL are so - so different. I would not be in a position to site a single common thing between them.
I am sure the 'guru's will find things in common' between the 2 products.

My point being - why audition a 'scorpio' & a 'skoda' if one wants to buy a car. Except for 4 wheels - there would not be much that is common between them - ah yes - the fuel [i.e. if we are to look at the "Laura"] !!!

I'm quite surprised that you didn't label BULL as some other cheap chinese brand and that you understand that everyone has a different taste.

I'm happy with the sound and so are the people who have auditioned the setup. I think its time you stop BULL bashing or it will get you by the horns ( no offense ).
