Get to 'Gyro' based somewhere in Noida.

I'd suggest a HU withing 5/6k. Select from Kenwood, Panasonic or Pioneer.
4 channel Amp for 6k. Select from Kenwood 8401 or Jbl 604.
Component speakers in front door for 6k. Select Bull audio, Jbl 608c or Illusion audio Electra.
12" sub in a sealed box for 6.5k. Select according to the speakers selected. Bull audio or Jbl gt5.
Wiring (some cheap brand for now) and install will cost 2k or more.

That brings the costs to 26k! A bit exceeded. But I'm sure you and your wife will enjoy the sound.

Tip: Your ears are the best judges for what you like. So, demo what you're going to buy if possible.

GYRO is a store, a Car audio / performance mods Store located at New Delhi.

VFM = Value for Money
SQ = Sound Quality
SPL = Sound Pressure Level aka loads of BOOM BOOM to shake the whole car.

Yes true , money allocated is 20k and as i said can streatch a bit more and that's it.
Lol,bro. I dont intend to offend you.
But, 20k here is quite a small figure and we've tried real hard to get a decent setup with an amp and still manage to stretch that a bit.
It is far from 'budget no bar'.
Guess you didn't read the disclaimers before you entered

Frank, no amp?

Monk, If I were you I'd listen to atleast 3 systems before deciding on what I like.

A system is a combination of parts and sometimes 2 good components might not go well together.

Given your budget I'd look a Pio or JVC for a 6K HU (Panasonic being not as well distributed), JBL or Blaupunkt for 9K (front and rear) speakers (Ground Zero, Illusion and Bull not being as widely distributed), JBL for a 6K sub, and Kenwood, Blaupunkt, JBL or Pioneer for a 6K 4 ch. amp. after you add damping (4K) for the front doors and wires (3K) your budget will be closer to 30K.

If you have the time do check out brands like Panasonic (now that JBL is dstributing them you might find Panasonic at JBL dealers), Ground Zero/Illusion (both are idstributed by the same dealer) and Bull (the Red basket might remind you of Sony XPlods). While these brands are not as widely distributed as JBL, Blaupunkt, Pioneer, and Sony (I have yet to like any Sony XPlod speaker) they are good.

1. Carry your own music
2. Carry a notepad to make notes
3. Make sure all settings are flat at the HU and at the amp (other than LPF/HPF)
4. Spend time alone in the car so that the dealer is not planting messages in your mind.

a.one place suggested by Gubir is "driven", would go over the weekend, is there any other place in Delhi/Noida with good choices?

b. amp is for SQ or SPL? basically i quite dislike when people passby playing loud music.

3. Sony i also did not like, but is there any particular reason of not recommedning a blaupunkt HU?

cheers,

driven is said to be good, even Gyro is supposed to be quite a brilliant one stop shop for all your needs. try pming gunbir.
if you live near faridabad then mr LBM is the best person to contact.

amp does not decide whether its going to be an SPL or SQ system. if you like SQ, the equipment should be chosen accordingly and the system should be tuned that way!

blaupunkt HU's are not recommended for their average sound quality and their expensive prices. you would do much better with a pioneer with the same quality and features at a lower price. thats why blau's are not preferred much.

Gunbir is at Gyro? I thought he was more often found at Driven. BTW for those who dont know Gunbir, he represents Audisoon, Bull/Rainbow and a few other car audio brands in India

Newbies should read the Commercial Involvement Declarations and disclaimers here
