Thanks Gilead. I just went ahead with my instincts on the selection of equipments, but the thing now is how well would all these equipment blend together. Hope my gamble pays off.

You bet, I would have done that already if not for the HAT clarus. The clarus drivers are big and mounting them on a santro is difficult.

Re: Suggestions for a $1000 setup

Guys, I have purchased almost everything except for the subwoofer. I have a DLS RS10 (mono) which does 300W RMS @ 4ohms and 500W RMS @ 2 ohms to drive the sub. My original choice was a 12" IDQ V3 D4 even though I have never heard it before but decided based on the reviews available on the net. But after hearing the Morel Ultimo in Mi10's setup, I was blown away by its performance. Recently a fellow bhpian brought the Morel Ultimo SC (sibiling to the original Ultimo) to my attention. On checking Morel's site I found that it fits my requirement and its priced more or less in the same range as IDQ. Which of these is a better sub in terms of SQ ?

I cant comment on the SQ or SPL part as i haven't heard the SC.
But you might like to consider the following aspect
600 rms @ 4 or 2 ohms - So i bet you would need the 2 ohm configuration because all Ultimo/Ultimo SC are SVC Subs
Sensitivity of 87 db - Not bad, but then not great either, and considering that fact that Morel enjoy more power (see their peak values, ~2000 rms!!) you would be under powering it with your RA10 even in 2 ohm load.
Fs wise is on par with the IDQ, and however it nudges ahead in Xmax. So i 'assume' SQ should be on the same plane.

I Suggest you listen to both. I have heard iDQ but not Morel. But Morel Ultimo range is said to be very transparent and mingles very well with your midbass

Can you give a brief note on IDQ's performance. If possible, do mention the overall config of the IDQ setup which you heard.
