I'm pretty sure the corsa accomodates a 5" component upfront. Scorp maybe you should get those and amplifiy the front.

Just for argument's sake, what can I do if I want to fit 5.25 or 6 inch components in my Alto since the stock position only takes 4 inch speakers.

Corners of dash... right next to the windshield. Just like in the WagonR.
Its unlikely that you can put anything bigger there but yeah cutting the doorpanel could be an option.... Its flimsy though so you'd require a lot of support.

dash boards rarely accomodate more than 4" but i got a crazy idea.....

get 2 5-6" woofers for the door. then cross then at say 150hz to the 4" mid in the dash board and that will get the image upfront and deliver power. only problem with this is
the cost of 5-6" woofer and it's accompanying amplifer.

I don't understand Navin's lingo on the 5-6 " woofer in the front. But what I came to know from the installer is that Corsa can accomodate only 4" speakers in the front. Maybe cutting the door is the only option. I have another idea, can' t I put 6" speakers protruding out from the door. Any harm in that ??

Well Navin,

The door panel is flimsy. You'll have to remake, or fortify the panel. Then the metal of the door itself is light... well it's a maruti and they're built light.
So you will have to dampen the door too...
But yeah it's workable.

That is a good idea. Even if I feed the 4 inchers with freq above 150, the tweeters will still be facing upward which is again not as good as having the tweeter directed at you. What do we do about that?

Well, the tweeter will face upwards, but towards a glass on your windscreen which is angled towards you...

Use resin bonded fiberglass to strengthen the door panel and dynamat to damp the metal.
